Major League Soccer (MLS) Minnesota United has parted ways with Head Coach Adrian Heath. Assistant Coach Sean McCauley will serve as Interim Head Coach for the remainder of the season
BREAKING: Minnesota United has hired Barnsley chief exec Khaled El-Ahmad as sporting director, sources tell me and @PaulTenorio.El-Ahmad, 42, has been a candidate for multiple recent MLS openings, but is now set to head the front office in Minnesota ⤵️https://t.co/K6oyA4yQrN— Tom Bogert (@tombogert) November 8, 2023
---------------- Is this a good or a bad thing? Don't know him. Barnsley not a big spender I would think, so hopefully he can translate all the MLS rules and succeed. What's the coaching status? Also, do you have any idea is there a season ticket waiting list? Every time I see a game from MSP the stands do appear pretty full.
Besides these basics I am not sure. El-Ahmad was previously the lead CONCACAF scout for City Football Group, playing a role in Manchester City’s signings of goalkeeper Zack Steffen from Columbus Crew and Sporting Kansas City homegrown Erik Palmer-Brown. El-Ahmad also has experience in MLS as he served as a lead in recruitment for NYCFC as part of the City Football Group network. Overall positive, the FO is committed to separating the roles. There will be a separate Sporting Director and a coach. I guess we will get a better idea when they actually hire a new coach and when he actually gets here, which may not be until next Summer. In terms of season tickets, I do not know? If you are not already on it, here is a link to The preserve. https://www.mnufc.com/tickets/offers/newsletter-and-preserve-sign-up Having said that, you should be able to get easy tickets trough Seat geek. Know quite a few who are not season ticket holders, but pretty much go to every game. Granted, most of them are in Wonderwall, but I still think you should be able to get 2+ tickets for most games in a variety of sections.
