Going to Qatar 2022: tickets, accommodations, etc. (non-politics)

I'm also a M2+M4 guy, looks like we're all getting screwed by FIFA. I prioritize M2 though, so I hope FIFA finds us a solution where we don't lose 5%. It sucks for me even more because Ahmad bin Ali Stadium was the only stadium that I didn't visit in the Arab Cup, and M4 is the only Ahmad bin Ali tickets I have, so I think I'll buy tickets for Belgium - Canada so that I can cross off all stadiums. That's another 5% lol

There is one QSL match (Qatar stars league) happening today in Lusail stadium, the final venue. It’s the first official match in that stadium.
Planning to attend it. Will post about the stadium experience cheers !

 

It's such a messed up situation. There's been little sentences in the media that suggest they'll be willing to help customers who are impacted "on a case by case basis" but seeing as your example of a situation where it's the easiest for them to rectify (instead of say people whose disruptions due to M1 switch include costly flights and accom) it's something they should try to help out with.

Buses will officially run from the Barwa Barahat clusters and a few other key locations directly to the stadiums. They had only 2 dedicated stadium express locations during the Arab Cup, now they have expanded it to 5 + stadium to stadium direct services. This is how buses will work for Al Janoub Stadium for example:

Thanks mate. Good that they try to give a walking time from the drop off spot. Those stadium to stadium buses are interesting too! Can think of one day in my trip where it may end up being helpful.

Direct buses from Barwa Barahat clusters to all the stadiums.

In my opinion this make more and more clusters as the best budget accommodation solution

 

We only need our own Fan Fest at Barwa and that's it. Since we don't have TV, and well, to have beer near the cluster would be awesome

Bus to stadiums is a big plus. Do we know if there's an option to come back to accomodation? Most of the matches I'm planning to attend are at 10pm, would be great to have a ride directly to my bed for neutral matches.

 

Depends on how many buses reserved and how organized, operated.
I don't know how many fans staying in Barwa Barahat at most but have a feeling of nightmare about shuttle services.

 

Clusters were already the best accommodation solution, budgetwise without these services. I mean 40 bucks/person (shared room) is peanuts in grand scheme of things. Plus, it's not like you'd be trekking the EBC route to get to stadium.

This is fantastic, though!

 

They do explicitly mention the return shuttle buses to the metro station after the game, but they do NOT mention these return buses to other destinations like the cluster. Wait and see; I do have some hope here that they will still organize it

 

I don't quite get the value of this? Stadium to Stadium express buses only for matches that have 4 hrs in between finish and start? Is there any reason to get to you next match 3 hrs before kick off - ie what will there be to do at a stadium 3hr before kick off? Thoughts?

If a match starts at 1 then it would probably finish at 3. Taking into consideration leaving the stadium to the bus stop and waiting for the bus to be filled and to move is another hour maybe. From stadium to stadium (taking into consideration the walking of 25 mins needed based on the website) is another 1 to 1.5 hours. In this case, you arrive around between 5 and 5:30 which makes sense.

If you search "Madinatna" on the accommodation website you'll find it. It is another new development by the same people building the workers accommodation, but a bit more upscale and aimed at families.
