Funny thing: in the 40s English stopped using the poor diaereses (naïve, coöperative, reëlect) just because it reminded people of the umlaut the hated Germans used.

They played quarters of 30' each. First hour ended 1-2 to Rennes, Pepi played the second hour and each team scored once in that time.

It is only the 2nd game of the season but Augsburg looks like they will be struggling to stay afloat all season. Must really be regretting spending all of that money on Pepi 18 million transfer fee for a player that doesn't even start... that is OK with some big clubs but Augsburg don't spend much.... heck, they only spent roughly 7 million in transfer fees over the summer.

Seems we have gone from a season with a bunch of benchers in the first divisions and a bunch of starters in the second divisions to a season with a bunch of benchers in the second divisions.

Somehow it seems to make mathematical sense.

Augsburg go up early! Wow. Demirovic looks like a good signing at CF. Nice touch on that pass.

Two changes up front... neither are Pepi. Unless things change dramatically Pepi choosing to jump to Augsburg will likely be the decision that keeps him off the plane to Qatar. Strikers take time to develop. Not sure why he thought going to a poor attacking team in the BL would be a good decision? Probably had a lot to do with the money. Could help Pepi develop in the long-run but there is no better prep than minutes and he isn't getting them at CF for Augsburg.

    Some will disagree. That's fine.

But I have never been impressed with Pepi. I've thought Ferreira was the better player and has a higher ceiling.

Been on here saying he’d really struggle since the move. Even I didn’t think it’d be quite this bad. This is a relegation fodder club and he’s being pushed toward the fringe despite all the money spent to bring him in.

4th striker off the bench, then stoppage time sub today...not good.

and man, what does this do to the logic of "they didnt pay xxx dollars to not play him"? geez.

Hustled and pressured well, and a huge victory for Augsburg.
