Will he be the starter there? Because that's what he needs- a starting position,

He will right now, because their fairly young polish first keeper Kamil Grabara recently suffered an injury that will keep him out for two month, and his replacement, Swedish international Karl-Johan Johnsson, has been doing quite poorly, which is also why they have been looking for a better option and replacement. In any case, if they do not qualify for the Champions League by beating Turkish Champions Trabzonspor in the play-off's, they qualify automatically to the Europa League group stage, so there will be plenty of games for him to play during the season, with both the Danish Superliga, games in the Europa Cups and Danish Cup games as well.

Thanks for that. Matt seems to have improved his shot stopping abilities over the years. A few years ago he made the saves you would expect a good keeper to make but rarely pulled off those special saves the top class guys could make. He is starting to become a good all round keeper. He has always been pretty good with the ball at his feet helping out the defence.

FC København have qualified for the UEFA Champions League group stage by holding Turkish Champions Trabzonspor to a 0-0 draw in the 2nd leg of the CL play-off's, not least thanks to Mathew Ryan. Here are his best saves from the second leg in Turkey :

FC Nordsjælland v FC København, 3-1
    1-0 Andreas Schjelderup (11')
    2-0 Martin Frese (50')
    3-0 Oliver Antman (90+1)
    3-1 Pep Biel (pen, 90+9)
    Attendance : 9,497

Perhaps both due to some tiredness among the FCK players after just having progressed to the CL group stage, and also the young highly talented Nordsjælland players being more motivated and hungry for a win, FCK were constantly on the back foot and really did not stand much of a chance in this Superliga match.

FCK were resting their captain and highly important holding midfielder Carlos Zeca, which also seemed highly noticeable, and though Mathew Ryan was doing his best, he had no chance preventing the only 18-yo Norwegian super-talent and U-21 NT striker Andreas Schjelderup from giving Nordsjælland an early lead, and FCK also had a dubious VAR decision and Ryan to thank for the fact that they got away with only a 1-3 defeat, though FCK's Superliga top-scorer Pep Biel managed to convert a penalty at the very end, in the 9th minute of extra-time, shortly after the young Finland U-21 NT striker (and son of Marvel Comics Superhero ? ;) :D) Oliver Antman had made it 3-0 to the home team. Ryan's performance and saves you can judge for yourself in the official FCK TV highlights below :
