similar to this.. but I would put Sergio Ramos as right back and Pepe with Hierro as the two center backs. And also Navas instead of Casillas.

    so it would be..

    Ronaldo9
    Cristiano. Benzema
    Zidane
    Modric. Casemiro

    RC. Pepe. Hierro. Sergio Ramos

    Keylor Navas

Hell, most people wouldn't have picked Benzema or even considered him before 2021-22 season. Benzema was still extremely disliked 3 years ago as Jovic was the guy everyone prefered as the starter lmfao.

I'm actually surprised Xabi Alonso doesn't make the grade - I was debating between him and Casemiro.

Casemiro won a lot more silverware. Xabi was very elegant but every time we faced Pep's Barca he was a liability.

I'm actually more surprised no one has Kroos. He was like Xabi but more successful.

I had Kroos.... it was between Kroos and Xabi for that position.

Casemiro has been the best DM in the world for 8 years now.. maybe 9 if you consider his last year with Porto.

I chose Benz because he became our talisman after CR7 left plus the other options did not accomplish as much.

Not the most balanced, but that's Madrid.

To the old timers, barring trophies, Makalele vs Casemiro in their primes?

    Also no Redondo?

I wouldn't consider myself an old timer(being 33) but I watched both. I would probably go with Casemiro. Makelele might have been better defensively but not by that much while Casemiro was much better offensively and came up big so many times.

Sadly didn't get to watch Redondo.

IMHO Case the best defensively ( although Claude was very good too and crucial in that particular team) Redondo the best going forward, ( and of course the most elegant of them) Case the most complete player of the three on and off the ball

I’m going to go with my most entertaining 11, players who would be fun to watch to see how they would be able to combo/pass

    R9 Benz
    Marcelo Guti Zidane Modric Figo
    R. Carlos Hierro Sergio R.
    Keylor

Been following since 2001, and this is my favorite 11:

    Cristiano - Benzema

    Zidane - Casemiro - Modric - Ozil

    Marcelo - Ramos - Pepe - Carvajal

    Courtois
If we go with best 11, I would probably swap out Ozil for Figo, Benzema for R9, Carvajal for Hierro with Ramos on the right.

    For worst 11,

    Mariano
Drenthe - Graveson - Pablo Garcia - Emerson
    Bravo - Pavon - Woodgate - Helguera - Danilo
    Adan
I know some of yall will fight me on Helguera, but I have only caught his later years when he has been really bad. Emerson didnt play on the right, but Capello did play him there away against Bayern with Gago and Diarra trying to preserve a 3-2 lead, and I remember we conceded in 10 seconds :ROFLMAO:

Hold on…… Gravesson was not that bad ;) he was funny as hell and to be fair. I’d say Illarmendi was more of a disappointment, but it’s your 11!

Helguera? I *********** loved him and his fighting spirit. For me, not only does he not belong to worst 11, his status is similar (not the same) as Arbeloa - limited player, who always gave everything he had, a true fighter. But yea, it's your worst 11 so be it : ).

Btw, no one mentioned one super sub we had and i feel like he deserves an honourable mention: Jose Antonio Reyes.

You need Faubert at RM for balance.

I was just thinking about this during the super cup win today, and then saw this thread. These kind of things change all the time, but really if I base it off my favourites to watch, who I want to see when I tune in,

    Cristiano Benzema

    Zidane
    Modric Guti
    Alonso

    Marcelo Ramos Pepe Carvajal

    Casillas
