Except it's the strongest group in terms of FIFA rankings.

Anyone know why he hasn't been in the picture since summer of '21? Did some digging, forgot he was hurt in the fall and he actually did make the roster for mini window #3, but otherwise it's just Gold Cup '21, and winter window '20-'21 in terms of call ups. So basically, of the camps he was healthy for, he's only made the call up for 2 out of 6. Im guessing Berhalter would rather just move Dest over and start Yedlin or Cannon if Robinson is out?

You guys want Puli on a side that doesn’t possess and where he’ll have to run 5 million miles a game?

He played yesterday and it was more than dust-up minutes for arguably a top-10 side in the world. Where is the emergency?

Nova with 2 assists in the coppa italia. One was off a press where he drives past a defender and nicely lays it over for a tap in. Another off a long ball with a flick on. With Venezia and having been in a couple camps he may challenge if he keeps it up since the 9 depth is thin.

do you put any stock whatsoever in fifa rankings? honestly?

we have two teams who arent "better"/bigger than us historically, presently or in terms of prestige. short of our undestimating anyone its as good a draw as we could have hoped for.

You wish (bolded part), my problem with his shots is that so many of them are totally shanked, if he was putting them on frame, but at the goalie, I'd be less alarmed, it's how badly he misses and how consistently he misses badly that stuns me (and how he gets away with it, while we basically could have expected Pefok to be loaded in a trebuchet and launched back into France after his flub at the Azteca, one miss, lol, and Pefok was basically exiled instantly by like 3/4's of the board that night, while Ferreira's basically made blowing chances, a patent opportunity this year).

I'm not invested in any of it, emotionally, btw, which is why I list so many bloody options, and also why my takes work different ways, because one side of it is what I want (an open competition at camps, and let the best 3 win), versus what I think will happen (Ferreira a lock, Pepi coming if he can score a couple and get regular playing time, plus one more guy).

its 100% going to be ferreira, 80% pepi and who cares.

i just think we do have guys who have shown the aility to score, both consistently and over more than half a season. i dont have any expectation whatsoever we use them though, other than possibly p-funk in the who cares slot.

That broken collarbone came at the worst time for him. He essentially missed the first half of last season and then it took him awhile longer to lock down his starting spot.

I think its likely to be Ferreira and Pepi (our leading #9 scorers in 2021 and 2022).................and one of Pefok/Vasquez.

I don't really know why people think Berhalter won't choose Pefok. He literally chose him for the last, do-or-die WCQing window. He played in the WCQer on the road in Mexico.

Technically, by the way, he was out for the last two windows with an abdominal injury.

    So.....................

It's a shame that all 3 of Pepi, Pefok, and BV can't get strong consideration.

Howard and Friedel were both voted within the top 10 goalkeepers in the world in the IFFHS' Goalkeeper of the year awards. (A European organization, not a pro-American one).

So yes, we've had two guys deemed top 10 goalkeepers in the world. At least if you believe that voting body.

What Aaronson showed in that game is exactly why Bielsa/Leeds had him in their crosshairs prior to Marsch even arriving. The guy has an unbelievable motor.
