Hopefully its not true. It feels preposterous how often all the YA are injured and how few seem durable. I'll chalk some of that up to being young players but still.
Have people started suggesting that yoga would solve all of his muscle problems yet? If not, let me be the first. He should do yoga.
No Dike today. Here's our XI to face @WatfordFC in our first home fixture of the season!COYB! 👊— West Bromwich Albion (@WBA) August 8, 2022
Yuck. Weirdly inconsistent messaging about his status leading into today. Hopefully he doesn't miss more.
probably aggravated it. the gaffer played him in the last friendly and even said he was a bit hurt so it's odd and a bit worrying that the communication seems poor. I'm sure Dike wanted to make a good impression and wasn't going to say he couldn't go in the opener but now it's cost him and the team at least one match without him.
#WBA Steve Bruce confirms that Daryl Dike has damaged his thigh in training. Awaiting scan results to determine severity. One #Baggies change to starting eleven tonight with Diangana replacing Phillips.— BBC Radio WM Sport (@sportbbcwm) August 8, 2022
12 minutes against Boro. Today not starting and not on the bench. Definitely injured. Qatar looks farther away. He's probably giving everything in training to crack the starting lineup, but instead, he cracked his thigh. *sigh*
Definitely injury concerns with Dike. I really feel like he, Pepi, Pefok and Wright all started this season with a real shot to make the WC... but this does not bode well for him. What did he play? Like one sub appearance before getting hurt again? Now you have to add Vasquez to the list and it is really starting to look unlikely for Dike. But you never know? Injuries happen all the time... He could get on a good run of form and take a spot at the last minute if someone else can't make it. In short... better that he is injured now than in late October... but still not good news for the big guy.
Things can change a lot in a month or two. We'll see what happens. More worrying is that this is a series of injuries now dating back to last year.
Yeah - google has some rando suggesting it’s more serious. Hopefully just minor. He is so big I hope muscle injuries aren’t a recurring problem.
Dike's out, and Watford just scored from their own half. Rough day for West Brom. https://streamff.com/v/e05ee0
Bruce on Sky: "Dike, unfortunately, has hurt his thigh in training yesterday. We’ll not know the extent until tomorrow, but it doesn't look good” #WBA— Elias (@EliasBurke) August 8, 2022 SB: "If it's as serious as we think it is, then he'll be a big miss," says "we'll see what we can do" on reinforcements #WBA— Elias (@EliasBurke) August 8, 2022
Extremely Disappointing for Dike I love Dike, but he was never going to make the 2022 World Cup Roster
