i know they're separate entities but i still wonder how the NFL allow the waltons to own both rams and broncos.
The KSE owns three professional sports teams in Denver, the MLS Rapids, the NBA Nuggets, and the NHL Avalanche, but they don’t own the Broncos.
I read it that he was saying Broncos owned by Walton (or about to be?) and Rams are owned by Stan & wife who’s a Walton. I don’t follow the NFL whatsoever, but I don’t see why they would have a problem with two branches of the same family owning two different teams. Which is what I think he was implying.
My understanding is the Broncos are for sale. Their owner died in 2019, and his estate wants to sell them for 4 billion, but apparently nothing will be finalized until after the coming season.
broncos are set to be bought by a different group of waltons. like i said, different entities but still a walton. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id...ent-sale-walton-penner-family-ownership-group
Chelsea has just been taken over by a PE consortium at an absurd price that can't possibly deliver a return on the current models (e.g. TV flatlined). Ask yourself why is PE coming in? What is their strategy to deliver ROI on a multi billion stake? Fans are engaged in a morality play about Barca daring to raise money against its own assets instead of being handed it by billionaires or petro states... But where is stans money coming from? This is a guy who tried to sell out football to the hedgie super league only a year ago. Now the stadium is not owned by the club. How is the debt structured? Is Arsenal also now some form of PE consortium? We don't know the answer to these questions because of the fanboi media So again I'd ask, how can any of this be sustainable or a sensible investment without some form of Super League plan?
Here is an example of what I am talking about ... does this remind you of anything? The point is not that Barca have sold their future rev. The point is a stealth takeover of one of the biggest football brands by PE Chelsea is now directly in the hands of PE at an insane price .... Where will ROI come from?
Another option at W. Yeremy Pino from Villarreal. Right footed RW that can also play as an AM and has played some ST... Liverpool y Arsenal son los equipos que más interés han mostrado en Yeremy✅Desde el club creen que hay algo avanzado https://t.co/ll7zhovDMU— Xavi Jorquera (@xavi_jorquera) August 8, 2022
FYI... something popped up on my Google news feed yesterday that was claiming Gavi still has not signed an extension with Barca and that he was going to refuse if they insisted on adding another MF (they are still linked to Bernardo Silva despite being unable to register their current signings). I mentioned this as a situation we should try to take advantage of several months back. Given their financial situation and inability to register some new signings, we really need to make a move. They are gonna be reluctant to sell but if he won't extend they may not have a choice. Added plus for us... he just turned 18 so would be eligible for HG status.
🚨 EXCLUSIVE: Barcelona told Frenkie de Jong on July 15 they have evidence of criminality around contract given by old board + cause for legal action vs all involved. #FCBarcelona asked him to annul deal & revert to previous terms @TheAthleticUK #MUFC #CFC https://t.co/g1at9ZqYL0— David Ornstein (@David_Ornstein) August 8, 2022 Incredible. Spanish radio claim Barcelona jointly set-up a holdings company to which it paid €150m of its own money to buy its own assets (to inflate value of sale). La Liga rejected it as not "new" money. Barça must now pay €37.5m tax on this payment.https://t.co/tCBQH64e3Z— Colin Millar (@Millar_Colin) August 8, 2022 thus club is a mess
Claims that we have offered 40m for Pino but Villareal want 60m. El Villarreal ha recibido dos ofertas de dos equipos de la Premier League por Yeremy Pino✅➡️Esos clubes son el Arsenal y el Liverpool💰Ambos han puesto 40 millones encima de la mesa➡️El Villarreal pide 60 millones por el 🇮🇨 pic.twitter.com/XAbCB3PIw9— Xavi Jorquera (@xavi_jorquera) August 8, 2022 Edit... the guy tweeting this is supposedly a young equivalent to Ornstein as it pertains to Villareal.
🚨 Brooke Norton-Cuffy has signed a new contract at Arsenal. Highly-rated 18yo right-back had 1yr left on existing deal & many suitors, but has extended #AFC stay - announcement likely this week. Possible he joins a Championship club on loan @TheAthleticUK https://t.co/6T83n8z6FA— David Ornstein (@David_Ornstein) August 8, 2022
Pino is younger and would cost less than Diaby (Villareal supposedly need to sell to afford Lo Celso). He has a better xG/90 and better defensive stats. Similar to Vieira in that he hasn't played much, so 40m euro seems reasonable. Actually, quite a bit of overlap with Vieira in terms of age/skillset/experience, so signing Pino would be a sign they see Vieira as much more of a 8/10 than a wing.
I think Arteta has specifically said that he sees Vieira as an 8/10. Most of the wing talk with him has been fans/analysts speculating based on his time at Porto. I like Pino's age (won't be as likely to expect starting minutes immediately), not as fast as Diaby but seems to be a much better fit for what Arteta seems to be doing. LOVE his footwork in tight spaces.
Have a feeling that we aren't gonna get a CM unless we feel a need for more depth due to Partey absence (legal or continued injury). As of right now we have 6 guys (MO, Xhaka, Vieira, ESR, Sambi & AMN) to play the 2 CM/AM spots. and 2 (Partey & El Neny) to cover for the DM spot.
Y'all think if and when Nuno comes back next year, we should switch to 5 at the back with our CBs, Nuno on the left, and Idk Saka or someone not named Cedric on the right?
You want Saka to leave? Because moving him into a WB role is a good way to get him to reject our extension offer and/or demand a transfer. Yes we have the CBs (including Tomi in that) to pull off a quality 3 man back line) but we have several offensive players (MO, Vieira, ESR, Saka, Martinelli) that could get lost in the shuffle depending on the formation we would choose and you potentially create new holes (RWB) in the roster that do not currently exist. Nuno may eventually gain enough defensive abilities to be an effective FB but my guess is that he will be most effective as a WB or LM/RM moving forward. Neither of those roles fit our desired formation so our best case scenario is that he has an amazing loan so we can flip him for a nice profit next summer.
You raise interesting questions. I'm no finance guy but I just hope your final presumptive conclusion is wrong. Because I really really never want to see a super league and apparently there are millions in the UK who'd agree. The question I have is how likely will the fans continue to be able to exert serious pressure against owners like they did the last time? If a super league is an inevitability that is a sad sad day for English and European football IMHO.
based on this summer's theme, i expect arteta sees him having time at the 8, the 10, and the wing, depending on the situation. the only one i could see him having difficulties with from RW would be odegaard since they would occupy largely the same space.
