His celebration on the sideline with his family in the stands was priceless. They were all so elated.
I think Sac Republic have a new rival - Oakland Roots - note how many Root fans were in attendance & Sac-Town haven't beaten these guys yet
Yup, they play us tough. This is the kind of team we should be beating this year. We'll have a hard time separating ourselves from the pack until we can do so on a regular basis. Rivals can do that to 'ya.
Yeah, that was a solid outcome, if if a bit ugly at times. Three wins in eight days across three time zones, ending vs a quality opponent is a feel-good for sure. Let's not choke it up vs RGV at home on Saturday.
I blame that crap pitch - NMU needs a new crib CHANCE! Luis Felipe takes a strike from outside the box but it goes straight to Tambakis.#NMvSAC | https://t.co/w3rxKqIgja pic.twitter.com/UMXzi6w2Oj— Sacramento Republic FC (@SacRepublicFC) August 4, 2022
Yeah, I told my wife I'll be happy for a scoreless draw - just before RGV scored. I was really disappointed in our back-ups for the first 70 mins. The team clearly improved when Lopez and Keko entered. LaGrassa had an uncharacteristically bad first half on the ball and I was relieved to see the quality of his passing improve in the 2nd half. Our wings were getting abused and Luis Felipe seemed a step slow. I'm glad they're getting finally a full week between games.
Despite the recent string of results, I am excited to see Sacramento Republic FC take the field at Exploria Stadium tomorrow. Flying into Orlando today from The Lone Star State to see the boys make history. Had three people come up to me praising Republic FC - also ran into a New Mexico United supporter and had a good conversation with a Phoenix Rising supporter (without causing a fight!).
That's great that you're going to attend. I'd love to but it's just not in the cards right now. Has Orlando been putting their starters out there these last couple of rounds? Or, have they advanced because someone has to? The U.S. Open Cup pays the winning club $300K and I don't know Orlando's approach to this tournament. It seems that SKC, once reaching the semi's wanted to advance because their season was already lost. Orlando's been pretty good and has a chance to host a home playoff game, which may be a more valuable payoff.
