We should be offering him a season and an club option for another.

Get that done and out of the way

As it looks, if won’t be any surprise we won’t have any backup 9 or another attacking option.
    Jovic and Mayoral are gone.
Bale, Isco and Marcelo are gone.
    Mariano is bad.
    No Mbappe
Who came? Just defensive players orientation.
What happens if One of Benz, Vini or Rodrygo get injured? Asensio will play?

Cavani for 10 goals please. Absolute no brainer. We're going to need Vini to start playing with different types of forwards considering what Benz does is incredibly unique.

Heck im certain match situations we could play 4222 with Cavani partnering Benzema, Modric and Vinicius (Valverde and Rodrygo as well) as wider AMs and Tchou with Camavinga in the middle (Casemiro as well).

The easiest option was retaining Mayoral. Since we didn't press that hard to convince him we need to take the next best solution.

We gonna buy aleksandar Mitrovic from fulham as back up 9...he is our new Adebayor...he broke a record in championship by number of scored goals..has 46 goals in 73 games for serbia..and he scored a brace in first match in premier league..I would risk with him for a reasonable fee

Well if no one comes and all this occurs and Marco stays and as much as Marco hurts my eyes when he is on the pitch and and and ..... the answer is likely yes, after all, bottom line, we are paying him to play

He's to Fulham what RDT is to Espanyol and staying in PL in worth 150 ME per year in TV money alone. There will be nothing reasonable about his fee if any club tries to price him away from Fulham. Will have to pay PL premium.

Adebayor was surplus to requirements at City after falling out with their coach. That's why we got him on loan. Cavani, Dzeko etc are far more realistic options than Mitrovic, RDT etc.

I can't even imagine how bad that person's life must be living in constant fear and panic.

I mean you can't even succeed without taking risk in life. How can you deal with every day life when you can't even deal with rival teams having minimal success in sports?

Seriously. If you have nothing to be grateful for... be grateful that you don't process things mentally like that.

Question marks around his health considering nobody really wants the guy, red flag but if he can even give us rotational minutes until January it would be a big help. Need Benzema well rested for the business end of the season.

Cavani looked ok when I saw him play with United. I guess it is hard to really have a read on his health without the doctors checking him out. I like his skillset for the backup 9 spot in general.

Real isn't really asking him to play more than the occasional game. If Benzema goes down, then Cavani isn't going to fill his boots. But no one is expecting him do that anyways.

I kinda get this but then again not really, right now we need Benz playing as much as is humanly possible, and all season long if possible, i don't know about all this rest, otherwise, come the "business end" of the season there might be no real business for him to attend to, might be too late after all that rest

IMHO, as per normal, we have to start winning from day one and keep winning as much as we can, it's the nature of playing for Madrid, you can either hack it or you can't, Benz has shown he can, and that he is a big part of what helps us to win, i get the world cup and his age and all that but this is just the reality of the situation and the job, my measly two cents.

Well lets see, what are the odds of his value being overinflated...

Even if there is a release clause, we still have to fight for wages and bonuses.

    Well-said,

I want another attacker, but we won the 14th CL with just Benzema, VJ. Rodrygo, Asensio, Hazard and Mariano. We only lost Jovic.

In fact, people were complaining that we only had Ronaldo, that awful Benzema and injury prone Bale.

We’ve been so smart about upgrading the depth of the back line (Rudiger), and midfield (Tchou), and we are gonna just go with the same attack as last year? Sounds like a recipe for disaster to me. Can’t be stagnant up top, gotta get creative. How in the world have we left it this late to add an attacker? I’m kinda flabbergasted really. With this club’s resources and appeal we could have attracted a ton of different players, even some who are seemingly content where they are. I cannot believe Flo, Carlo and co are honestly happy with the attack as is. Just can’t bring myself to believe it. Biggest club in the world, obligation to try and win everything again and again. I’m surprised so many of you seem content with this “we’ll fix it in January” idea. We should’ve identified options after Mbappe pulled his stunt and started working.

Fully agreed. However, I am not sure the (majority of the) people here are content with this attack. I believe that some of them mainly try to counter the immense, continuous and tiring negativity by some of the posters by stating that "we won the league and CL with these guys!". But I'm sure everyone is at some level worried about the lack of developments in the forward area. It's just that some people want the club to strengthen with only quality players and others with any player (regardless of quality). Not sure if this makes sense, but that's how I interpreted this whole discussion.

For me it's clear – that forward line was troublesome last year and it'll be much worse this year. We need to get work done.

There has to be something in the works, and/or they’re hoping for a late window surprise (someone becomes available on loan or low risk transfer). It would be shocking otherwise to lean on this false 9 idea or basically have Mariano first off the bench.

I’ve said this before but in my view when you have the best player on earth, probably for no more than another year or two at his peak, you have to take some (reasonable) risks and go all-in.

On top of that we really owe it to guys like Modric in particular to not have our entire season go in the trash if Benz gets a medium term injury. There’s going to be a huge drop off at 9 no matter what but you need someone to at least give you a real chance to tread water and keep pace if he gets hurt.

We have the best player at striker yes. And arguably the best young wide player.

But we would be lying if were gonna pretend we are not ultra thin up top. overall.

I'm on the fence of the signing a back up #9. I would have gone all in for Haaland, so I do believe new blood is needed (and will be certainly needed sooner than later).

On the other hand the VJ & KB9 worked wonders last year and I generally agree a team that won 2 major titles shouldn't need much tampering with.....

but when I see names like Iker Bravo being thrown around, I say "who?" - then I Google it and get really worried.

Iker Bravo is for Castilla or at most competing for the 3rd striker position with Latasa/Mariano. I doubt he is being positioned as Benzema's immediate backup.
