Just wondering, was there ever a realistic chance of haaland playing for England or was he Norwegian from the get go? You see pictures of him wearing England shirts when he was young and it got me wondering if he has an affinity for England. Hes a Leeds supporter and came to City because his dad played there.
Eddie Nketiah says he has not yet decided his future. https://www.ghanaweb.com/GhanaHomeP...d-to-play-for-Ghana-yet-Eddie-Nketiah-1598363 https://dailycannon.com/2022/08/eddie-nketiah-england-ghana-switch/ https://ghanasoccernet.com/exclusiv...-on-him?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter
Shame he re-signed at Arsenal. Looks like he’s a bench option once more which makes his call up much harder. Bit of a left-field one. Hallam Hope who won lots of caps for England youth is now playing for Barbados. He’s also a non-league player with Oldham Athletic.
Looks like Arsenal will have a successful season meaning cup runs so he will get plenty of games .. plus they need a back up for Jesus
Ash Phillips played for rovers yesterday. Just turned 17. He was immense. The welsh supporters are all over him even talking about a carrot of a world cup place. We need to keep hold of him. He has been linked with a move to spurs bit I'm hoping he signs a new contract. He could be the next rio Ferdinand.
What about Luke Harris at Fulham. Playing for Wales but was born in Jersey so would he be eligible for England?
The welsh supporters want him fast tracked to the seniors. He hasn't started a senior game yet. Typical nobbers. They want the same done with Philips but they can keep their dirty little hands off him
Fulham's website says he's been called up by England before. Presumably that was for a camp because he's definitely never played any games.
Is Omari Hutchinson eligible to switch back or did his switch for that unofficial Jamaica v Catalonia friendly be his one time switch.
Does he even have to switch back since it was an unofficial friendly? Isn’t it the International version of being a trialist.
I’m not sure. I think it’s possible he applied for a switch in case they called him up for further matches during the break.
My understanding is that he remains fully eligible for England. That Catalonia game, as far as FIFA is concerned, was just practice. I believe he didn't even have his Jamaican papers (passport, etc) fully in hand yet at the time - don't need to have that all set for what amounts to a glorified practice game.
Michael Okeke, who attended an England U17 camp last season, wants to play for Hungary. 🇭🇺 As confirmed by Antal Németh of the MLSZ to Csakfoci, Michael Okeke (16) of @ManCity has requested to play for Hungary. He is eligible through his Hungarian mother. The midfielder signed a scholarship with Man City this summer and won the Premier League Cup last season. pic.twitter.com/u8cGeF9o2d— Bence Bocsák (@BenBocsak) August 16, 2022
Are Hungary running a recruitment drive? That’s an unusual switch at that age. More goals were scored by ex English duals in the PL yesterday than England eligible players.
Jack & Tyler Fletcher have both been called up to Scotland’s U16s. Jack was involved in the most recent England U15 squad & was captain for one of the games.
Four English based players have been called up to Bulgaria's U17 squad: Zhechko Zhelyazkov (Gillingham), Stoyan Pergelov (Birmingham), Teo Minchev (Arsenal) & Alexander Dimitrov (Cambridge United) Seems like they're putting a bit of emphasis on dual nationals in England as they've of course also got Sylvester Jasper in the U21s.
Reece Evans of Leicester going to Northern Ireland u19s. What do you guys think of him? Haven't seen much of him but heard he a prospect at Leicester. England worthy or no ?
Yes thats the fella. There is real excitement at leicester about him. One to keep an eye. Physically he is immense, full grown man kid. Should be knocking on the door in the not too distant future
yeah but you also have to wonder is he just too strong for the kids he's playing with or actually that good at this stage?
