Obvious holes in the squad aside for a minute, when can we acknowledge that maybe we’ve seen the best of Rashford and all we get from here on out is what we saw last season? There’s a real possibility that’s the case. If so, we need way more help up front than just a Ronaldo replacement.

Also, Let’s just accept we’re a bad team. We’re going to see a lot of the same problems as last season, because new tactics won’t necessarily fix bad players. Maguire was awful again today, as was Shaw. Anyone you put between them will look bad as well because they will always be out of position covering for those two. And Dalot has no business starting for a decent PL side.

We need a lot of help still this window to have a shot at top 4 this season and judging by us being linked to Arnautovic today, we clearly aren’t backing the manager with the necessary finances.

Strap in gentlemen, it’s going to be a bumpy ride again this season.

    Should have hired Pochettino instead

    He knows the EPL

Pooch would have gotten McT and Fred playing well?

Won't happen. Rashford will be well into his 30's and people on here and the rest of our fan base will still be saying things like he's learning his craft, there's a player in there.

For all the discussion of his mentality, Rashford just doesn't look the same physically to me at all. Went through a long period of repeated injuries and frequently trying to play hurt and he looks like he has totally lost his explosiveness to me. Looks entirely average in terms of pace and quickness now when that was one of his best attributes when he was breaking through.

Obviously I didnt predict his back injuries, but I always said that Rashford needed to develop the technical side of his game. He shouldnt be reliant on just pushing the ball past people and running around them. I agree that he looks like hes lost a step, and without that top speed, looks a shell of his former self.

Don't get me wrong I agree the physical issues does not excuse every aspect of his lack of development, I just think they're an under-discussed factor. Used to be he was a constant danger in behind, but I don't think he's much bothering most decent FBs these days. Makes the whole rest of his game look worse as well I suspect because the threat of his pace meant FBs had to give him more space and without that space his technical limitations are more exposed.

Manchester United have made a surprise enquiry about former Manchester City winger Leroy Sane’s availability as boss Erik ten Hag continues to assess his attacking options.

Sane hasn’t had the smoothest of times since returning to Germany in 2020 to join Bayern Munich. And the arrival this summer of Sadio Mane from Liverpool has raised questions about how much playing time he will get this season.

This is old. Happened a week ago and Bayern dismissed it almost right away.

Nah, this imo is the most daft.

Former Man City Player (why join a rival, a lesser one)

Current Bayern Player (why leave German Champions for 7th place?)

Currently playing for a CL team that has a chance to win it all.

    Oh and he's a starter.

Our club should have signed him from Germany but you know...

    He WAS a starter

Mane is there now and started yesterday and the previous game - the German SuperCup final

    Sane is now a substitute
