Maybe they're an assignor? I am an assignor and when I signed up on USSoccer GO, I got two profiles. One for referee and one for Assignor. I can see everything on USSoccer GO which is weird because that's for, I imagine, National Assignors. But I'm not complaining...
Possibly. But you don't have to be an assignor. Anyone with a USSoccer GO account can see every released assignment if they know where to look. Same with any other GameOfficials account. If you assign through GameOfficials, every released assignment can be seen by anyone with an account in that group.
This is really surprising to me in a world where tech security and privacy have become such significant issues. (AYSO abandoned one of its key tools because of the privacy/security issues a few years back, and hasn’t had a system nearly as good since—except that the newer systems have better data security and controls.)
As a user, I can't see the future assignments, only when it is completed. Maybe said user is an assignor. Nonetheless, it seems that in the future we won't have this issue since it looks like US Soccer is moving to DemoSphere?!?
Remember this? That referee had a similar encounter tonight doing a game in Louisville... https://streamja.com/dJrgq
Good, ******** that player. Also where are the ARs again?! I don't get why that near side AR isn't SPRINTING in there to help. You wouldn't be able to instruct that instinct out of me.
A player getting away from his teammate and decking him in the side of the head, possibly killing him? Literally anything could happen, one player decided it would be fine to get physical with a referee, and this is the same referee where a player did something similar a couple weeks ago. Support your referees, be a physical presence when a player gets in their face.
The Referee handled the contact fine and there doesn’t appear the be anything there he needed help for. I’m wondering what in the world the idiot player is mad about. He could have/should have been send off for SFP for the kick out foul. He was going to get off with a yellow. Why he thinks that’s not a foul is beyond me.
You don't know that though do you. That's why you go and provide support, because of the possibility. Hands up, who here has worked in a prison?
Do you watch that video and honestly see that? I’m not going to suggest that the player didn’t deserve a red card but the player wasn’t restrained by anyone. Perhaps you officiate more adult amateur games where situations like you describe are possible or even likely. I don’t see anything in this video that suggest the referees life is in danger and you “sprinting across the field” is likely throwing gas on a fire. The player had a momentary outburst that very appropriately deserves a red card. That outburst was over before the red is even shown. im sure there are many moments where your experience working in a prison could be valuable but this game didn’t take place in a prison and we shouldn’t treat its participants like they’re rioters.

Should i post the match reports from the literal 10s of thousands of matches yesterday with no referee assault?
Also, was “who here has worked in a prison” supposed to be some sort of sensical or logical argument? Prisons are… prisons. If you walk onto the pitch refereeing thinking it’s the same thing, that might be an issue. You can draw skills into refereeing from all sorts of backgrounds. Anthony Taylor was a prison guard. It doesn’t mean he acts like one on the field. You take skills learned elsewhere and apply them, but you officiate the match as a referee. Any human can be assaulted in any high pressure or contentious situation. Acting like it’s commonplace in our sport and certain mechanics should be in place based solely on some extreme cases is daft. I agree with all @incognitoind ’s posts here. Moreover, wouldn’t aggressively sprinting into a situation like this possibly put a second official at risk of assault if that is a real concern? Anyway, I’m glad to see this referee learned from the incident weeks ago and immediately went red here. We should be observing just how well that worked.
Hopefully it's a non-issue moving to Demosphere, yes. But in gameofficials any user can see any assignment that has been released, even if it hasn't been accepted, including if it's in the future.
I've seen same-day appeals for UPSL games from my local assignors' mailing lists, though I don't remember how recent that was.
I had login info for an old US Soccer game officials account in my phone (probably from DA) that I found, and I can only see assignments after the game starts. It only lists everything as TBD with asterisk. Same as the MLS Next game officials.
Huh. Ifeoma Onumonu sends a ball over the line for a Gotham goal BUT the referee calls a corner instead. 😱🤔 pic.twitter.com/U2i0CWaC5B— Attacking Third (@AttackingThird) August 28, 2022
Yikes! It's completely understandable if you don't have a goal there. That is a reasonably acceptable error. Without GLT that has been happening for decades. I don't see how you can award a corner kick there. It's physically impossible. She is saying that a shot/cross that wasn't taken parallel or near the goal line somehow, popped up, looped over, went over the goal line and curved back in to hit the post?
I think the reason for the suspension is they gave a corner kick there. If it was just a play on there (it's over the goal line, but it's not egregiously over), I don't think they get suspended and we even know about it. It's the fact the AR gives a corner kick, which is just so laughably inaccurate that leads to the suspension and the use of the word "egregious."
Do you know something? Or just speculating? I don't know how well the refs or players would like that at this point in the season. Plus, somehow I think bringing top BU officials over would impact their MLS assignments, and possibly someone would have to find some money. I doubt they'd use MLS budget to pay their game-day fees (separate from their salary compensation) for the NWSL.
