I do hope he is one of those who can get over teen injures and doesn’t have an entire career dominated by them.

It’s a shame Emile Smith Rowe seems to be struggling to reducer from a chronic injury, He is very talented but he is finding it hard.

Levi Colwill off permanently to Brighton. Be interesting to see how he gets on - if he succeeds it could be very good for his England future what with Potter seen by so many as being an England manager someday.

Win win for us and Colwill imo, should see plenty of opportunities considering Brighton we’re very adamant that he’s included in the deal otherwise it wouldn’t happen so shows how much they wanted him.

Apparently Colwill is not technically included in the deal for Cucurella but will be separate transaction including a buy back clause for Chelsea. I’m not sure if the simply the later part being the reason it’s separate through.

Might be classed as separate but from what I’ve read it’s very much part of the guarantee with regard to the deal.

It probably also prevents an rare issue like one of them failing a medical stoping the other moving.

If Chelsea sold Colwill it makes their task of getting youth players to sign their contracts even more difficult. You would assume they could see the long term benefits of embedding someone like Colwill into their squad.

From an England perspective Brighton is a great move.

It feels like the salaries offered at 17/18/19 will always keep many of their youth from not leaving for Free with them simply sold a year or two after resigning. The big clubs mostly don’t lose their youth for free or low fees.

Levi Colwill going on loan now to Brighton for the next season. No purchase option.

Apparently Wolves have REJECTED a 35 million pound bid from Forest for Morgan Gibbs-White! The Worlds going nuts…..Don’t get me wrong, good player but can’t work out what’s worse, Forest bidding that amount or Wolves rejecting it.

Forest are playing a dangerous game by signing all these players. Cooper is acting like he's in fifa career mode

Wolves might rejecting it simply because they need him for homegrown quota (and with them aiming for Europe they will need club trained players or only be able to have smaller squad.)

It will either work well and they will finish a few places or move above relegation or they will be easily relegated.

I don't think the homegrown quota is a serious concern for any club.

It is to the extent that it can be annoying to managers having to have a smaller squad (Fixed limit of 17 non homegrown players) particularly as UEFA rules for clubs playing in Europe are stricter and require four club trained players or the squad has to be smaller.

Apropos of nothing in particular, I would not have guessed that Cole Palmer is mixed-race.

Doesn't matter if they barely play him, does it? 21 players that you actually play and 1 that you don't amounts to the same options as 21 players that you actually play.

Neither did I. Genetics are a remarkable thing as his sister looks mixed race.
Emilie Smith Rowe is also mixed race.

I’m not sure if either identify as Mixed Race. Kieran Trippier doesn’t but Kalvin Phillips does for example.

The odds are through that injures always occur and reduce the squad size. We have seen already this week several teams having youth who are not formally part of the senior squad on the bench due to injures.

Yeah one of my mates is married to someone ostensibly white (blonde hair, blue eyes etc.), same as her sister, yet their brother looks mixed and they all have the same parents. Their dad is mixed though as I assume Palmer's is, so they're mostly European. I think there's a sort of unconscious assumption of a one drop principle that doesn't really manifest in real life.

It's an assumption that I probably shouldn't make. There an enough examples of people who aren't visibly mixed-race.

Emile smith Rowe is the same mix as my daughter. I’m white English and my wife half Jamaican half white irish

our daughter looks white but gets really brown in the sun and has really curly long hair

it’s mad as I know people with children of the same mix who look a lot more like their black parent. Guess it’s a lottery
