Brooke Jenkins signed for IK Uppsala (top of Swedish 2 tier) earlier this week
The clubs homepage IK Uppsala Fotboll - Elitettan (Swedish)
Mentions that she is 25 and most recently comes from Bnot Netanya in Israels top tier, but nothing else about her Soccer/football history.

She was subed in at 84' in todays 2-0 win against city rivals Gamla Uppsala SK.

Nicole Robertson played all 90 and scored the 2-0 goal on PK at 75'.

Taryn Ries didn't play and was not on the bench.

According to those who follow Man United Women, this is American Andrea Lu:

She appears to be signed to the development squad and is with the first team for a bit. No idea on her background. I found one player with PSV Union FC in California, but they list her as a 2024 grad (presumably HS). That could be her, but would mean her family moved to the UK.

This just popped up from July. The PSV grad date may be wrong.

Lu played U16 this past season in California so 2024 graduate makes sense. I heard her family was moving to the UK a couple months ago for this reason.

Thanks. It's unusual for a family to up and move (and they shouldn't be moving just for football reasons, according to FIFA), especially on the women's side of the game. There aren't many Yank girls who end up overseas during their academy years.

I cannot vouch that this is the only reason they moved there. But that is how it was phrased to me by someone who knows the family.

FIFA doesn't usually pay much attention to the women's game (not much money in it) and if she doesn't sign professionally, then it probably isn't an issue. It would get a lot more attention in the men's game.

This appears to have been a SWPL match, which makes her the rare trialist to play a top tier league match.

I'm not quite sure how to address the question, but it means she wasn't an officially registered player at the time of the match. The club can't register her with the FA until they have her ITC. It's really unusual for a pro league to allow someone to play in a competitive match without being registered. I've seen it in the UK with the various reserve leagues which FIFA considers official leagues (a player who plays for an EPL reserve team in PL2 is considered to have played for the club -- important when dealing with loans as you can't play for more than 2 clubs in a season). Those leagues do allow trialists to play in their competition, even when the player is registered with another club in their league.

You would never see a trialist or an unregistered player in a men's competitive 1st tier match, so I wonder what's the deal here.

Congrats to her. Even though USL-W league is not a pro league, it helps players to build up their experience and resume for teams home and overseas.
