If some things go right for SKC, this could be a match they could possibly win. Especially since LA's new addition of Riqui Puig from Barcelona won't be here in time to play.

This is MLS...anything can happen. Give me a lotto ticket for SKC winning 3-2 in an MLS after dark special.

LOL we score 3 goals when we've scored 1 goal in the last 400 minutes at home in league play?

BTW, if we don't score in the first 10 minutes we set a record for the longest goaless streak in club history.

I think I would put money on SKC setting that record.

Unfortunately, I will have to miss seeing the game live due to a funeral I must attend. I'm still not sure which one will be more entertaining.

I suppose in both cases, it's all a matter of perspective. Your question remains unanswered.

My god, opposing teams should always trade away their best midfielder right before they play us! This is great.

Really enjoying the positive energy and attacking from Agada. Though I think he'll see a lot of bookings this season, haha. Little bit wild, reminding me of early Kinda. Wonder if the Israeli league is a bit looser in that regard.

Is this what optimism (or at least playing with a real 9) is like?

He did a wonderful job keeping the ball in play and then anticipating the pass to the keeper... he broke off pursuit of the ball and ran toward the goal before the defender played it to him in-stride. Nice toe-poke finish past the keeper too.

Reminded me of his playoff no-look goal against RSL years and years ago!

Thought the penalty on UTI was harsh, but that's also never getting overturned by VAR

I’m not sure, but did Agada in one game just surpass Shelton’s total goal output for the last two seasons?

In league play he's 1 goal short, Shelton scored 3 goals last year.

Agade just looked up for it. We don't see that in a 9 very often these days. . I mean, a bit worrying that he gets three shots, two with the keeper on the ground, and he keeps sending it at the guy. But goals are goals, and his second was really well taken. You could see the confidence. And, he could have had three others, if not for some really good defending, keeping.
You can feel the pressure being lifted off Johnny and Salloi with other people who can actually score.
the MLS site is not putting up our stats, so i can't break anything down at this point, but I really liked us in this game.
    Man, that was fun!

Thommy and Agada are really running counter to the 'PV doesn't integrate midseason signings well' thing. In this case the equation might have been more simple. He needed a body in midfield and Thommy turned out to be good at soccering. Agada had to play because the other option is having objectively the worst season of any offensive player in the league. Not a lot of room for PV to muck around and hold anyone back.

Last night was so fun I'm just going to enjoy it. No worrying about what it means for the season or next season.

Although I will say that I wish the PBP guy would not say things about seeing how this might give SKC some boost toward a meaningful run late in the season. It's just the worst kind of pollyanna homerism that makes me more than a little happy that MLS will have a stable of neutral announcers doing all the games next year.

Yes, yes it is! Agada looked good. Nice hold up play, good speed to get in behind the defense and some quality passing.

His hold up play was impressive. Shelton doesn't do that because he's too busy doing all the little things. BTW, if anyone knows what those little things are, i'd love to know. Setting up the cones?
On another point, Roger gave us a really good half today. But when we subbed him, he'd looked as if he'd been finished for 10 minutes.
Walter plays the 6 in a more advanced position than Uri, much more advanced than Ilie. that said, the first half was his best as a 6 that we've seen, imo. I'm wondering if a midfield of Kinda, Thommy and Walter might work.
And a big agreement on the announcers. Noting that this just might kick off a run into the playoffs? FFS. The general rule on making the playoffs is 50 pts, right? if we win out, 9 more on the trot, we will be sitting on ... 50 points. True, a couple sides have finished top 7 with as few as 45 points, so we'd only have to produce 2.55 ppg in the run-in, which isn't quite 3x our rate to date this season, but is significantly better than even LAFC this year. The math says, btw, even if won out and LAFC lost out, we cannot catch them. So, i'm sorry if we find this sad, but SKC might not win the SS this year.
