I haven't heard strong reports regarding high interest from any of those players recently, so my instinct is to say we're unlikely to pick any of them off before we can do what Ghana has done with Lamptey and offer a seat on the plane to a World Cup - and if that happens (and this is still a significant "if", although qualification will be much easier then), it'll be late 2024 at the earliest, probably more like 2025.

What's more likely is that Jamaica will add duals who England doesn't care much about (Dujon Sterling, Demeaco Duhaney, Jaden Bogle, Kayne Ramsey, maybe Ethan Laird if he doesn't advance, etc).

I just wouldn't consider Jamaica a real threat to pick off any of England's RB depth soon. Same on the left (don't expect Tyrick Mitchell or Rico Henry to commit to us soon either).

I'm starting to think out of all the duals we have lost lately, broja could be a big loss.
Talk of him going to West ham for 30 mil, he's not a bad player at all.
He could have been a natural replacement for kane if kane's form dropped or if he had an injury.

I think with him he was never on the FA’s radar when Albania called him up for their youth squads. So the FA didn’t know what they were losing until after his senior Albania debut.

Seems to be a regular occurance for our FA. A lot of these lads slip under the radar and it's too late to call them back once they starting playing well in the prem.

Same happens to many players who are not duals or were not approached by any other country they eligible for and then make senior squads after later development.

Plsnty of cases in France like that as well who otherwise are generally pretty good at keeping duals. Riyad Mahrez and Edouard Mendy for example.

I guess so. France can afford to lose world class talent though. They also have a higher proportion of ethnic players in the first team. They seem to have a finger on the pulse that's better than us when it comes to duals.

I think Calvin Bassey will be looked upon as a big miss in few years time, he has so much potential. interesting interview upon his arrival at Ajax, (refers to himself as English).

I wonder FA might have been able to keep him had he been born a day later in 2000 and therefore they could have offered him under 21 in the autumn of last year.

They'll probably announce him in their seniors during the next international break.

I wonder if this year might be a breakthrough season for Elliott Anderson? He seems to have been impressive in preseason for Newcastle. His links to Scotland don’t appear to be that strong ( one of his grannies was born there ) so surely the FA must be on this or this could potentially be another one we might regret losing.

Problem is having played for Scotland under 21 in June he wont be able to switch for a year and play at the same level and he could be in their seniors by then.

I hope we don’t lose Eberechi Eze over the coming year. He has apparently had a very good pre season and is being described as being back to his pre injury form.

Zidane Iqbal could turn out to be a bit of a miss now he is a full member of Man United’s first team.

Possibly. He's the kind of midfielder we need as well. Long way to go for him yet though.

He has already been capped twice for Iraq seniors and will surely be called up for them in September and then will likely have four.

Hudson - Odoi might leave Chelsea for Southampton or Leicester to get more game time. Hasn’t yet committed to switching to Ghana.

Not a high-profile one, but does anyone know anything about Eddie Beach, the 18-year-old keeper who Chelsea signed from Southampton this summer? Apparently he's played for Wales under-19s but he was born and raised in Hampshire.

I haven't seen him and Juni should know more, but I thought it was interesting that the page said he only transitioned from an outfield player to a goalkeeper as an Under-15.

Was it Paul Woolston who did the same? One of the recent-ish England youth keepers did.

Not heard anything about Woolston, but from a quick google it seems like Nathan Trott did.

Might have been him I was thinking of. From a quick Google, Joe Hart only started playing in goal when he was 14.

I think I had heard that fact about Trott before and it rung a bell. I guess maybe the age at which you switch doesn't affect your ability with the ball at your feet so much, given that was one of the most criticised areas of Hart's game.
