Gressel also a guy I’m interested in seeing what happens there. Has the capacity to be a role player next cycle depending on who is coach next term

Definitely too late for the fall and he’ll probably be too old for 26, but for a Gold Cup or NL, why not? He’s a good player with a sweet right foot.

Wouldn’t say 32 is too old per say, but definitely not young. Knew he’d be older by the time he’s eligible for selection. Guess my question is, is he eligible now for selection?

In general I am not calling players in for Gold Cup or NL that haven't been part of the Nats and don't look to be in the future.

14th goal for Vazquez tonight, commentators mentioned Anthony Hudson is in the stands to watch him. I think he gets his shot in Sept. hard to ignore now.

Vazquez > Ferreira, Pepi, Wright, Pefok, Ebobisse, Morris, Dike, etc…

There is nothing any one of them does better than Vazquez.

JeBo and Benji Kikanovic each notch for San Jose in 3-3 draw with Austin, who we are getting quite the testy little rivalry with, especially in regards to Mr. Stuver.

I think you're completely right, and there will be a lot of foaming at the mouth when it happens.

Pepi had better start forcing himself onto the field and contributing.

So there's more chance of Zardes scoring a hat-trick than there is being hit by lightning.

I think Minnesota's Dayne St Clair had two of the assists.

Echoing Liverpool's tactical evolution, Behalter's midfield adjustments--pushing the rcm into more of a ram role--make it less necessary for a false-9 type.

    Not between continents, it isn't.

There's literally 1-2 data points a year in these situations. You can do all the models within a league or even a continental championship, but you can't base the relative value of a team in the Argentinian league against a team in the Romanian league very effectively by noting that Liverpool beat Palmeiras 1-0 in the CWC and cascading from there.

Two borderline US players who I'm curious about:

How is Shaq Moore doing since his move to Nashville?
How has Djordje Mihailovic been performing since his return from injury for Montreal?

Matt Doyle: "pulled both events & tracking data to show that Brandon Vazquez is having the best year of any domestic attacker since Donovan & Dempsey in 2014."
