Rapinoe will be awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom at the White House on July 7: The highest civilian honor in the United States. 🎖@mPinoe will be awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom at the White House on July 7 🇺🇸— U.S. Women's National Soccer Team (@USWNT) July 1, 2022 A HUGE honor, but also I guess this means that she won't be in Mexico for the Jamaica game?
First reaction from Rapinoe: Megan Rapinoe speaking just now in Monterrey about receiving the Presidential Medal of Freedom:"I'm just shook. I'm totally overwhelmed and just completely honored by this. It's really hard to find the words to express how special this is and what this means to me."#USWNT— Jeff Kassouf (@JeffKassouf) July 1, 2022 And ends with this: Pinoe closes us out with this: "You guys, I'm going to the fuckin' White House."#USWNT pic.twitter.com/Gmy4CavrWi— Steph Yang | Horrible Soccer Goose (@thrace) July 1, 2022

The topics contained in this ESPN article may be classified as "old business" but highlights the challenges and accomplishments of President Cone. https://www.espn.com/soccer/united-...-breakthrough-lifts-dark-cloud-over-us-soccer The equal pay issue has existed for decades but she ascended to the Presidency when the sh1t was really hitting the fan. Not to mention that the Pandemic also hit soon thereafter. A lot of positive adjectives have been attached to the labor settlement but from my years in business I'd like to add one more - - - - virtually impossible. Some days I still doubt that it is finally over. I can't believe Cindy only received 53% of the vote in the recent election.

O.K. one question - - - - do they corral the bulls after the San Fermin Festival or do they allow the animals to roam free in the streets year-round?

New kits are here: The new @USWNT home and away kits are here. 🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/wBo9NOfR16— Attacking Third (@AttackingThird) September 15, 2022 Meh. They're okay, I guess, except I really don't like the crest in the middle. I feel a bit sorry for the MNT who will have to wear these at the MWC.
Ugh, the centered crest is even worse with the FIFA badge: Fresh new kits for the @usmnt and @uswnt 🇺🇸#NikeFC pic.twitter.com/OKT2bVSdt5— U.S. Soccer (@ussoccer) September 15, 2022
Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee likeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey. Not my area of expertise but Philosophically, I believe that the strategic movement of the four-star crest on the Jerseys is to incapsulate and signify that: The United States Women’s National Soccer Team is the absolute center of people’s lives -and- Metaphorically, change from covering one’s heart to covering one’s soul. I welcome the change in design. On long trips in hotel lobbies, fellow fans will not think you’re just wearing the same jersey day after day after day. With the significant turnover in the roster, I’ve been holding off on Jersey purchases waiting for the assigned Match number issue to settle down a little. In addition, I don’t need to remind you that the Holiday Season is fast approaching.

Cross-posting here from the Germany thread: it has been reported that January camp is to be held in New Zealand and feature 2 games against New Zealand. USWNT notes, per multiple sources:KC's Adrianna Franch getting called into squad for Germany friendlies, taking Aubrey Kingsbury's place. That roster expected soon.US to hold January camp in New Zealand -- their WWC base -- and play the Football Ferns twice (non-fifa window).— Steven Goff (@SoccerInsider) October 30, 2022 I would assume this is at least partly because the USWNT has never played in New Zealand and would like to do some scouting of hotels and such and have players somewhat acquainted with the area before playing there in the WWC (New Zealand will be their base for the group stage.)
Seems to me the reason for playing in New Zealand is to get experience of playing with (1) a very long plane flight to get there and (2) a large time zone change.
Yes, but, I think, those were the same reasons they made the trip to Australia last year although more experience is always helpful. I was saying specifically I think this camp in New Zealand is because they were drawn into the group based there and have never played there. Otherwise, I would assume they may have headed back to Australia, or foregone the trip altogether. Of course, I'm sure its multi-purpose, and it surely helps New Zealand as well, especially in helping build WWC enthusiasm.
