Are you saying it's not ? Go hire fonseca back, none of those players would come. You would end up with some unknown plumbers instead of experienced winners coming from better club than you.
I think it will depend on the games, I think we can use Matic in big games. Matic won't be able to play 30+ games. Also, I think Celik will be a starter over Karsdorp, especially since on the other side Spinazzolla will be attacking.
People disagree with you because to keep emphasizing only the "Mourinho Effect" completely misses the bigger picture: "The Friedkin Effect" You know, the effect which actually caused Mourinho to come to Roma in the forst place. Of course, Mourinho is and will continue to attract some higher caliber players but the way you repeat it makes it seem like Mourinho just found poor little Roma by chance and is trying to save it. What actually happened is that the new owners bought the club with a plan, are investing money in that plan and hiring Mourinho as a manager is a big part of that plan.
I am happy with both Freidkins and Mourinho. It's been a long time since I am satisfied with those two spots.

Il Tempo details how Roma have managed to significantly strengthen their squad this summer whilst also managing to lower their wage bill, emblematic of their impressive transfer market work. https://t.co/sYyJqQ3aBu #Roma #SerieA #Calciomercato— Football Italia (@footballitalia) August 5, 2022 Pinto masterclass
Good luck to him. Good player but never captured the first 6 months of form when he seemed to be everywhere in games across the midfield. As time went on it became apparent he really needed a top top sitting playmaker beside him to see the best out of him with more freedom, given his energy. Had it have been Xhaka last year we might have seen a very different story for Veretout but thats football.
Veretout done, Kluivert and Perez soon. I fear Diawara will turn into a Fazio situation and ride out his contract unfortunately. side note: I hope Zalewski takes the #11 when Perez is finally sold.
No Nah , let's be honest here , when a signing end up as a flop. Who will be blamed first for it? Owner or manager ? Manager of course , nobody blame owner for a flop signing Therefore the credit for getting those signing and especially if they successful should go to the manager too. And It's not like friedkin gave Mourinho a blank cheque like Roman Abramovich back then at Chelsea Friedkin work with very tight budget therefore heavily relies on the manager pull to get the signing in
The best owners don't mettle at all. They give their football personnel the budget and f*** off to the stands. Holy shit, if Bailly comes we'll be the 2016 All Stars.

So how do you explain Wijnaldum stating in his interview that Pinto was the one who talked to him about the project and got him excited to join the club along with the good experiences that Strootman and Salah shared? And that Mourinho was just the icing on the cake.

I don’t feel as optimistic as some. Roma still have quite a way to go with shoring up the defense. Smalling is nothing but injury prone, and he’s the best CB on the squad. Ibañez worries me, and I don’t have faith in Mancini - for his concentration, or overall ability. Right now the club is still fighting for fourth.
So now that you guys only spend 7m for 6 signings , why don't spend actual money to buy quality defender and extra midfielder to mount serious title challenge in all front ? Or just use the money to pay the ref more than juve / milan / inter paid because those little shit might be the biggest obstacles next season
