Going to Qatar 2022: tickets, accommodations, etc. (non-politics)

I'll give people my example. I somehow managed to get (fluke) 2xCat 3 tickets for the final in the fcfs a few weeks ago by basically being at the right place at the right millisecond. Wasn't even searching for those tickets, my son was just scrolling down whilst I went to get a drink. We just hit the jackpot. Had to then extend our WC adventure by 12 days but well worth it. A WC final is football history. Now I'm spending hours chasing a couple of Iran v USA cat 2 or 3's and will be hunting for QF and SF tix when they throw those crumbs at us. Have 14 games spread over 23 days and attending all 8 stadiums. 4 r16 games plus the final are my premiums, wasn't too fussed with what group games I ended up with. Hard to predict those WC classics in any case. For a WC first timer I'm very happy. A massive thanks to the people organising those scanners. Absolute legends.

LOL - It wasn't meant to be literally schoolchildren (though it could be)... I was merely trying to point out that stadiums will most likely be at least partially filled (at least for the less desirable matches) with freebie seat fillers for the cameras. It's nothing new. FIFA has done this before and will do it again.

 

I put my CAT3 Netherlands vs Ecuador on the resale platform 2 days ago, but it hasn't been sold yet and there is no CAT3 available for that game to buy. My CAT2 France vs Denmark, Belgium vs Morocco and Belgium vs Canada were sold fairly quickly.

So they're still holding back at least some tickets.

 

I put mine up there too. Same thing.

For those who bought tickets using a different account, how are you able to get past the whole Hayya card thing? Do you plan to transfer them to the original application?

 

Yesterday i saw a few seconds CAT 2 on sale for M48…

 

Definitely in the fcfs a few weeks ago. Was specifically after Australia v Tunisia that night and 2-3 others to fill in the time whilst in Qatar but ended up with the final as well lol. I beat the bots, the pro's, the hustlers and fifa mafia without even realising it. Been an interesting few months seeing how the ticket system operates as a first timer. Kind of sucks how fifa tries to manufacture the illusion of scarcity, fake demand. Definitely need luck, patience and time to end up with what your really after. Good luck to all.

 

I don’t mind the scarcity part. If I was running FIFA every WC would be played in the US. That’s what CONCACAF does; makes millions from tickets, plus millions in beer and TV rights. Mexicos Fed literally is fed by US dollars. Id make Euros wake up early to watch games and have to deal with Ticketmaster like pricing to watch live games… the World Cup would be like the Super Bowl! (sorry europe, soccer is coming home!) Seriously tho; we don’t know how good we have it… 2026 will be a wake up call (again; not trying to start a 2026 debate). I’m going to enjoy the last WC with decent ticket prices

 

Agree especially don’t quite understand why they are also holding the semis which are usually a hard sell due to its high price and - in euro2020 FCFS phase the semi was left for weeks especially cat1

 

Once Argentina determines their path. The opposite semi will be released. If Argentina is knocked out; both semis will be released. Argentina draws millions! If Argentina and Brazil are on path to match 61… you will rarely see it. It’ll be worth more than the final. They’ll turn most of them to Cat1 / hospitality (whatever version of hospitality they can come up with)

 

Actually I was refreshing match 24 and there were 2 cat 2 tickets and 1 cat3 tickets if I am correct. So it can be bots, it can be just not many tickets available. The frustrating part is that they put it on the domestic first. So either you are willing to "cheat" or likewise you do not have any chance againts people who do.

 

Maybe there will be no new drops today? Considering the work week in Qatar ends on Thursday.

 

There has been drop at around 2AM Qatar time for 2 days in a row so I doubt anyone was working at that time either.
So can't really believe this to be a reason.

Maybe most of the people have gotten rid off the tickets they didn't want already.

Another drop. I was refreshing the WHOLE time before the alert came, and I couldn't even see the option to add to the cart

 

Got 2 cat2 for arg pol. ( domestic). It was hard to cart.

There seemed to be a bunch available on cat 2

some few showed for argvs mex bout couldn’t cart

 

Okay, now after 5 mins, they appeared but can't add them to the cart. For some reason I got a delay of 5 mins

 

How did you do it? I always receive this message

 

I got the same a bunch of times. just kept refreshing. It was luck. I was getting 4 but got nervous and only could get 2.

I started trying with 4, and then just decided to try for less

 

Carted Mexico-Poland Cat 3 and Cat 1 in the international portal, just to check. I don't need it. But it is cart-able.

Hope some of you guys who wanted it, got it. This was a pretty big drop, it seems.

 

Are you in Qatar or going about it another way?

 

Picked up some Cat 3 - NED SEN tickets!, anyone thing there will be any issues getting off flight at 06:30 and making the 13:00 kick off? also any know of luggage storage solutions at or near stadiums?

fyi the scanner seemed to show a huge drop of cat 4 tickets 1-2 mins before the rest dropped
