The resilience of the man. To bounce back from such a miss, to still play the game with so much joy, and to spread that joy to fans and teammates alike. We all could use some more Kei Kamara in our lives.
You may be the only person who gets this, but he reminds me a lot of Dick Allen and what he went through.
I think in some ways Allen had it far worse, and in some ways Kamara probably had it worse. A common thread is certainly a lack of appreciation and recognition for them when they were at their best, by home supporters.
Both plays were great saves, the one from inside the six was great positioning, both Cucho had a defender playing him tight. Cucho also had a rocket hit the post. I will still contend that the difference was mostly goalkeeping, with Room not making the plays while his counterpart did, but also the defending from Crew was a clown show, especially on the winner. I wouldn’t mind all of our defenders being replaced and only Santos staying on the team but playing wing.
The Legend Kei Kamara legit had 3-4 good chances, that could have been goals, one forcing a great save from Room. As great as Kamara was last night, I agree with stanger that the defense was a clown show. None of our CB's deserved to be on the same field as Kei.
My mind got changed through the years on Allen, frankly. Largely, it was because of the character he showed in many of those instances (not all, but you cannot blame someone for being human). Mind you, Schmidt got some of the same things from the fans--it wasn't all racism. But much of it was, and I did not realize it when I was a kid. And Schmidt credits Allen for showing him the way through it. Allen belongs in the Hall. Period.
Great strikers often make good defenders look like a clown show, though. Cucho came close--had he not hit the post....
I agree with you and Room has been a problem for a season and a half. However, is lack of ability does not absolve Cucho's finishing. Again, both things can be true. He slides home either of those changes (good saves on both) and we probably win the game.
Ce but égalisateur de @keikamara 😤 We ain't never giving up ! 🫶#CFMTL pic.twitter.com/ay5bJhmoQv— CF Montréal (@cfmontreal) August 4, 2022 The field level view of the goal. Yeesh. What a player, Kei Kamara.
There at the end, when Kei was staring into the soul of someone in the stands, it was either me or @chr1st. I don't know what chr1st was doing, but I was 100% giving Mr. Kamara the Hooligan Salute.
Oh sure. The 50/50 Raffle? My idea--but swiped from the Jackets. And probably from caveman Og back in the day.
Mrs KG and I worked with the CSF back in the day as that's what Crew Chiefs morphed into. There was a raffle for Crew gear, but that didn't work that well. So--the 50/50 idea.
If he scores one, the remainder of the game will be necessarily different, in all aspects. We do not know what the result would have been other than a 2-1 loss would not have happened.
I think there is a disconnect: Lamacchia probably thought you were claiming the actual concept of a 50/50 raffle.
Yes, this was the first place my brain went. After the late night I'm not running on all cylinders. Very cool.
Wait, were you the guy that poked me with the flag and made me model my jersey for you?! Dammit, I shoulda made you give me a beer! Also, my brain must have been fully melted because I didn't even recognize you. As for Kei, I could only smile. After the trash talk all game, we had it coming. And, damn, did he know exactly where to celebrate.
