Leeds fans feel the exact same way. They already wonder if Jessie has the ability to change and/or adapt when this formation gets burned badly by decent sides.
As long as they are beating the bottom third squads 3-2 (and losing to the top third sides 3-1) it won't really matter and will be more fun than parking the bus. I don't really rate Jesse as a coach (don't know enough about him really) so this season will certainly provide more data.
Leeds fans seemed pretty astute to me. Jesse played that way at RB. Teams caught on and started switching play quickly, and attacking against his overloads. The team got stretched real thin and was exposed. Of course having a 17-18 year old jack rabbit who never tired in Tyler Adams helped. They completely outplayed Chivas in their CCACAF semi and lost. Huge missed opportunity and many in RB land blamed it on his inability to adjust his style just a bit to become less predictable. Chivas held off the battering ram, but everyone knew exactly how they were going to try to score. In Austria he had Haaland and way too much talent to know for sure. At Leipzig it was philosophical. This is the test for him. This is his chance. We will find out quickly.
I’m not a big fan of his and do think adjusting tactics is an issue for him - but it’s also a problem for the whole Energy Drink universe. Hopefully Leeds is more entertaining to watch than the current NY RB team.
They need to bring in the extreme sports wing to pep things up. What ever happened to that dude who sky-dove from the edge of the atmosphere?
