Count me out. Neither has shown the defense ability or smarts to play in the defense. Hell, the next thing you are going to suggest is playing Yuell as a center defender!

This is my prediction. Jebo scores in the first half. We come out flat in the second half. Yueil misplaces a backward pass and Nathan misses the tackle and then Miami ties the game by 55th min. Monteiro gets pushed but no calls. Benji is gassed. Remedi on a yellow. Then we bring in Gregus, Cade and Salinas. Miami keeps pushing. JT makes several saves. On the 88th min, Marie loses his mark and Miami scores the winning goal. I walk to my car wondering why I did come. Rinse and repeat.
Hard to argue. Lot of money in Vegas riding on this very detailed scenario, based on scientific precepts of Deja Vu.
Espinosa would move to RB when we were chasing games late under Almeyda and look great. Cade hasn't had the chance so not sure how he would prove it? Espinosa is a protypical wingback -- great stamina, pace and dribbling with shit end product... cade is trending that direction unfortunately. We can then put niko and bouda on the wing instead and potentially tommy at the number 8 which is his best position. I'd much rather see that than beason or shea at LB. I almost feel like Marie wpuld be better at outside mid, he has shown some end product.
Will Richardson at LM or LB could work too. I just want to see us try something out of the box. Again, no relegation in MLS -- lets take advantage of it and see what we got in these young guys we havent seen.
I've thought in the past that Richmond could be a candidate to play LB. He is very good at getting to the end line and crossing, so he could give us some wide play that we tend to miss with Lopez. And he can cut in and shoot with his right (though I haven't been impressed with his shots in Quakes II). Also from watching him in Quakes II, he doesn't show a lot of interest in playing defense. I think he played left winger against Celta and did OK I guess. Same problem with Espinoza. He could do it, but to me he doesn't show that much interest in playing defense. And it's doubtful that at this point in the season Covelo's going to suddenly go to 3 in the back, which would allow these guys to be wingers. We don't really even have the CB depth to do 3 in the back right now. Agren can play but that leaves no one to sub in. We should consider maybe Skahan at outside back. At least he's got good speed. He has advertised that he could play there (in interviews). I could seem him being a sort of Nick Lima kind of player - good pace who tends to play kind of north and south, and has a good medium-long shot.

First 500 fans get ice cream? Sorry, that is pathetic. People wrestle with traffic and hurry over to make a Wednesday night game, they ALL get ice cream. PayPal can afford it. Just the fees they've extracted from me over the last year would cover ice cream for all. JT looks good in bright colors, and I think the colors will be fine -- the referees' jerseys are more of a carrot orange whereas JT's looks like pumpkin spice.
It's a Wednesday night game, the Quakes are out of playoff contention, and our open offers are getting rejected one by one. I can't imagine more than 500 will show up tonight.
former Manchester United legend in the house tonight (seen here on the right, standing next to his brother after winning the treble in 1999), Phil Neville. nice to see such a legendary player in town. hope the Quakes can make sure his long trip back to Miami is an unhappy one.
