I'll give the unsatisfying hedge: serious if true. A lot of what she's posted looks credible. Some stuff looks a bit crazy but also could be the result of some form of PTSD, which of course would be understandable for someone who'd suffered trauma. And yeah, I agree with Jitty, I doubt this will completely be resolved any time soon.
Sucks. Also sucks for his teammates who are training & playing every day with a potential rapist. Praying this is resolved sooner rather than later!!
Claims that Torreira is close to agreeing personal terms with Galatasaray... Lucas #Torreira è molto vicino al #Galatasaray: trattativa aperta con l'#Arsenal, per il giocatore pronto un triennale (con opzione per un'altra stagione) da oltre 3 mln netti all'anno più bonus. Lucas Torreira will become a new Galatasaray player. Deal has been agreed with Arsenal for €5.5m + €1.5m in bonuses. (@asmarcatr)— Arsenal Guns (@TheArsenalGuns) August 1, 2022
I'd hedge against any real charges, soley based on the police or investigating constables are unlikely to have encouraged her to tweet substantial parts of the case. The texts might imply lack of consent, but I dunno man the metoo era zeal to prosecute has kinda run dry. But, Partey is black so who knows. As to his teammates... Honestly I doubt they really care. "Bird problems" is part and parcel of pro sports such as it is.
I'm just not sure why she would come out and say this unless it's mostly true. I know a lot of people are excited for this season and excited for Arsenal, but I am not. Partey has killed any excitement I have for this club. He shouldn't be out there until this all is resolved. I know you don't read twitter, or maybe don't know how, but a teammate allegedly knew and decided to go the chaos route and spread stories about her. She claims it's in the police report.
With Lucas Torreira reportedly leaving for 7m euros (£5.8m), Arsenal will have moved on all 8 of the players brought in under Sven Mislintat. They cost £129m and Arsenal are set to recoup around £26.5m with their departures (Excluding loan fees), and stand to make profit on 2. pic.twitter.com/Uuid6sAAMv— Ben Browning (@BenBrowning3) August 1, 2022
Most of the NDAs I've had to do have involved "here's our secret tech, you can't tell anyone about it," and that usually doesn't involve "you can't talk to the cops." Speaking hypothetically, were I drafting an NDA for a situation like this,* IMO it would be negligent to not include a provision along the lines of "you're being paid $X to settle any claims related to any and all interactions with person Y, and that means you can't talk about interactions with person Y, including talking to the police." At least under US law. Whether a UK court would enforce that, I have no idea. *The odds of me doing that are essentially 0 - I've done enough pro bono work for DV victims to make the concept horrifying.
There are enough forms out there that you could probably put together an NDA in about thirty minutes. Getting it signed and paid would take longer, but a motivated party could get everything lined up in a day.
Saliba & Martinelli are 21. They are now HG. Also as other mentioned Bellerin is HG. So we currently have 10 HG with Bellerin, AMN & Nelson possible/likely to leave. Non-HG... Pepe, Torreira, Mari & Runarsson are the most likely to leave with Torreira & Mari seeming to be close.
I looked at what she tweeted and, while we only have her side of the story and she's not the most articulate person on twitter, she seems rather credible.
Fab on it Arsenal have received Galatasaray proposal for Lucas Torreira. It would be a permanent deal, waiting for the player to agree on personal terms. 🚨🇹🇷🇺🇾 #AFCArsenal are prepared to accept and sell Torreira immediately. pic.twitter.com/QDK2oiUdvG— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) August 1, 2022 ooof
Ouch. I'm a VfB man in the Bundesliga, so this one stings a little. In Sven's defense, a lot of that disparity has to do with factors out of his control, especially when it comes to Aubameyang. No one could have predicted things ending so badly there. But it's still an "ouch."
I believe the cutoff is January 1, 2022. Saliba and Martinelli were both still 20 as of that date, so they still count as u21 for this season. Next year they will bump up to over-21 HG.
Wow "bird problems"... that's really cynical and I really hope (for humanity's sake) that's not how most of them see it If I had to work with someone who was a rapist (or even an accused, possible rapist) I would not be happy.
If true, ugh. I wouldn't be happy with that if I was the board or KSE. Based on his time at AFC, I don't know what to think about Sven. Just happy we have more harmony and victory these days. Hmm... where have I heard those words before?
Don’t forget that Kobe Bryant went through something similar and it didn’t appear to affect his relationship with his teammates. His case also demonstrates how hard it is, at least in the US, to prosecute a he said, she said sexual assault allegation. Successful celebrity prosecutions usually involve multiple she said allegations.
And to clarify, when I said some of her Tweets seemed a bit wacky, it was those in which she admitted she was "drunk" tweeting.
Something I was wondering about - is I think you'd have to be careful you didn't start creating crime documentation? i.e. covering up a crime via paying off witnesses?
Don’t have to look far to see how the men’s sporting world regards women—today Deshaun Watson of the NFL was suspended for 6 games for sexually assaulting 24 (and probably more) women. That’s about one quarter of an NFL game per case. The arbitrator of the case made special note of the fact that none of the cases were “violent” sexual assaults. Very cool!
It’s such a murky subject antone could say anything, you wouldn’t know if anything was true unless it was filmed etc I don’t know what to believe. It’s a shit situation for both parties
