Hmmm ... another slog off a preseason complete with sprigs, sloppy turnovers, lack of communication between defenders and snatched at chances. 1-0 to the home team.

We could also have conceded more than the one. I’m impressed with the youngsters, though, and it’s taking a lot of robust tackling allied to some cheap shots to stop them. They press well— just need better quality with the final ball.

Went for the 15 minute highlights.
And they show it in virtual computer football. What a bunch of crap. complete with ads. I gave up.

yep - it was a nice run-out overall. how we didn't score in the last 15 mins is beyond me!

That’s what scared me last season and made me nervous about next.
We constantly outplay teams yet we need to put them away.

We have a fair number of young kids breaking into the line up ie Elliott, Carvalho, Jones (still raw imo) along with Nunez who is only 22 and new to the team.
Much is going to depend on how much these guys are able to contribute in goals and assists. I'm sure we'll be heavily relying on Mo,Jota and Diaz.

This is a team in a bit of a transition but lets hope it doesn't affect us too much.

We’re going to see about a dozen of that type match where the opponents leave everything the pitch and punish our one or two errors. Need to work on scoring and stop finding a defender or inspired goalkeeper. Also, Adrian makes me nervous even when going for a routine stop.

He’s movement is so good. Their defense made some really nice last ditch tackles to deny him when it looked like he was about to score.

Carvalho continues to impress. It will be interesting to see what his position in this team ends up being. He played on the left wing again and did really well there, but I like him in a more central role.

Bajcetic was excellent again. Hard to believe he’s only 17. He’s got it all, and he’s so calm and composed.

A little frustrating to lose, but I like a lot of what I saw. I’m feeling very confident in the squad going into the season.

in the ongoing debate about "why do we have to send the players all over the world in preseason" .... this puts some perspective on the importance of overseas fans.

    https://www.bbc.com/news/business-62234627
Why Premier League teams are flocking back to Asia

"I don't have a religion, I don't have a god. Liverpool Football Club is my religion - it's a way of life for me."

Vijay was born in Singapore - nearly 11,000km (6,800 miles) away from Liverpool's Anfield stadium - and he's been waiting since 2011 for his team to visit his home city. He's not the only one. Earlier this month more than 50,000 fans filled Singapore's National Stadium for a friendly match between Liverpool and Crystal Palace.

After three years of Covid travel bans, English Premier League teams are once again criss-crossing the globe on pre-season summer tours. "Asia is our single largest region in terms of fan base," Billy Hogan, Liverpool's chief executive told the BBC. "Someone once said to me you could stand at any airport and jump on any plane and have a reason to go there and find Liverpool fans. But a third of our global support is here and we feel there's tremendous opportunity in Asia."

    that guy is dedicated :)

Back in Singapore, Vijay removes his shirt and shows off his back. It is covered in Liverpool tattoos and the years of every single trophy won in the club's history. He is optimistic about the future.

"My father was a Liverpool fan and the first thing I did with my baby daughters was to put a Liverpool shirt on them. This will carry on through the generations, believe me".

It seems to me that Klopp is still not satisfied with conditioning from the bits that he’s dropped in the media briefings,

I think klopp is preparing the team with the five sub rule in mind. While city have done business this year selling of a bunch of squad players and buying a few first team players i think our squad is stronger at the moment. They might have the edge on actual first team but I think we are building better depth

He has a huge squad of players and wants them all match fit. So we are basically playing 4 games between City, Stratsburg, Fulham, and Villa. This gives all the players the chance to get almost two full 90 minutes under their belt.

Most pre-seasons, the last couple of games are against lower-league "local" teams. Given the short summer break they got dropped off the schedule so another tune up tomorrow and then after Fulham is probably needed to give the whole squad the minutes needed.

Half time 0-3 . I think the kids are a bit unlucky to be three down . A couple defensive errors have cost us but at the other end we've not been able to carve out any serious chances. Eight of our guys are 20 or younger while Strasbourgs youngest is 21 so we're deffo outmatched as far as experience goes. It will be a good learning exercise for the young lads.

Not enough cohesion, initially, but there are some good youngsters out there. Strasbourg hanging on at the end but we’d no end product. I like the hunting in packs and closing down.

The youngsters were outmatched today unfortunately and Strasbourg proved too much for them. It was difficult for the kids all game and we never really tested their keeper. However the kids did work their socks off so there's a fitness benefit and hopefully they've learned something from a decent French side.

    FT 3-0.

pretty meaningless given we had a bunch of players unavailable - Kelleher, Tsimim Ox, Ramsey would almost certainly have played.

but -- Konate came off injured - knee.

Apparently Klopp said Konate’s injury is not a big concern and he was taken off as a precaution.

Jota too. Yeah I'm pretty sure that when this game was set up the plan was to get a pretty strong 11 on the pitch in the final tune up game before the season proper kicks off .
