I did not. Mount has been deployed in midfield this preseason and done well there. Puli, Werner and Ziyech have all gotten starts in the front 3. I don't know what Tuchel is doing. If he shifts back to a 3-4-3 with Mount in attack then he wasted a month of preseason.
The first half against Arsenal was the end of whatever he was thinking about doing differently. He puckered back up into the 3-4-3 and decided he would rather be able to blame the talent than the tactics when he gets fired.
Yeah. While I stand by my original point, in the end there is no decent striker. No combination of front line players is going to do that much damage (not a Top 2 in the Premier League level of damage, in any case). Was just about to post that CP has nothing to worry about in terms of CHO gaining on him in the pecking order when he got a late assist. I still don't think CHO is the answer to any of their issues.
They’re all good players. There’s just no synergy and surely the manager is somewhat responsible for that.
Ugh why can’t Kante or Jorginho sit and Mount plays where he should as a free roaming 8 instead of as a forced winger. Then we see Pulisic on the wing.
Sounds like RasenballSport might be taking Werner on loan this season. https://www.bild.de/sport/fussball/...534.bild.html###wt_ref=https:/www.reddit.com/
Cause this is pre season and these games mean nothing other than experimenting will the line ups to see if they have more options when it really matters.
I hate to say it, but this looks really bad for CP. Unless there is some circumstance of which I am unaware, not seeing playing time with the game day squad is a major demotion meaning he may not even make the bench most of the time. Maybe Barcelona will come calling.
Koulibaly needs to be added to your list. There isn’t a defender in the squad close to him. Outside of that, I would probably agree.
They split the squad there is another game tomorrow. Pulisic will start with Kovacic, Chillwell, Broja, etc. . .
I am not bragging, because it is not difficult to foresee, but I’ve already said I think this is going to be a really rough season for CP in terms of minutes and G/A. It’s not that I don’t believe in him as a player, it’s that he and Tuchel are like milk and Red Bull -they don’t mix. I wish he had gotten the hell out of there, but apparently TT told him he “has a role to play in the team.” Yada yada
It looks like the second match already happened. Chelsea won 2-0. HZ penalty and RLC right before halftime were the scorers. Puli played 90. No idea how he looked.
Didn't find any highlights on Youtube (yet?) but the match report has only one mention of him....doesn't seem like he tore it up..... https://www.chelseafc.com/en/news/article/match-report-udinese-xi-vs-chelsea-xi
Quick scan of the comments reveals that Pulisic and Ziyech can't beat their man. Broja missed some chances but they still like him cause he's new. On to the regular season!
And for the first season opening in a while, not injured! The tea leaves suggest that CP had options to move, that TT talked him into staying, and that CP is happy with that decision. Who are we to argue with this outcome?

Chelsea fans hate his guts no matter what, so frankly reading the comments won't tell you anything. Shame it seems that game was not broadcast anywhere.
Man, I wish our boy went to Arsenal this summer. It.looks like they building something special over there.
