Seems like just yesterday Mallorca was putting on that hype video of him sitting on a couch in their stadium. How many minutes did he play? 180?
That's what I was saying, Sands has clearly been hitting the gym... “He's arguably put himself into contention to start the season as Connor Goldson's partner despite the signings of John Souttar and Ben Davies for that role.“Van Bronckhorst wants to play out from the back and you could see Sands being used for that job.” https://t.co/qTaqbn9Pm0— Daniel (@DanielSmith1022) July 26, 2022 Looks like Mr. Sands added some high quality weight this offseason, which has likely helped with the transition back to CB. https://t.co/ikjgokHiGo— Marcus Chairez (@chai_asc) July 26, 2022
Sometimes you just have to get old enough to put on muscle. Some folks are able to do it at a very young age but some of us nothing happens until you just get to the right age.
Crystal Palace really announced Chris Richards as "Ted Lasso" #Believe. #CPFC pic.twitter.com/yWBqdH9USa— Crystal Palace F.C. Sands is one of the very few guys who at this point could make a late push to get a September invite. And his versatility doesn't hurt his chances.
We should see a big jump in Premier League minutes this season... 8 American players will be in the Premier League for the 2022/23 season! 🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/6465wPONHt— USMNT Otaku 🇺🇸 (@USMNTOtaku) July 27, 2022 8 and then there's Steffen Horvath Miazga lol
I doubt it happens, but I think Sands has some qualities that will make him a good modern center back. Could he become Cameron-esque?
Absolutely agreed here. People were writing him off , and I’m thinking, dude ain’t done growing lol. Totally one of those late growth spurt guys. They can’t all be Cade cowell
bingo continuing on with champions league things, Josh Cohen and Haifa are up 2-0 on olympiacos 70th minute, 3-1 their favor on aggregate. Henry wingo and Ferencvaros rallied from their aggregate deficit and are up 4-1on Bratislava late injury time. Looks like they’ll advance despite the early exit scare
still not there yet... Record is 13 (2006-7) Beasley, Bocanegra, Convey, DeMerit, Dempsey, Friedel, Hahnemann, Howard, McBride, Onyewu, Reyna, Johan Smith, Spector 🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/tAyyCO9BCA— roger bennett (@rogbennett) July 27, 2022 Most USMNT players in a PL game is at least five, from a Reading-Fulham game in 2008 (Hahnemann, Keller, McBride, Dempsey, Bocanegra). Possibly more before that. Haven't finished the database yet.— Paul Carr (@PaulCarr) July 27, 2022
Carr missed one. March 16, 2008, Fulham v Everton featured 6 USMNT players: Keller, Johnson, McBride, Bocanegra, Dempsey, and Howard.
To add to @tombogert's reporting, sources say talks between Middlesbrough & Mallorca have reached an advanced stage regarding Matthew HoppeSeems there's a real desire from Hoppe to make the move to get minutes, score goals & win his #USMNT spot back 🇺🇸https://t.co/X0eSFYjGjr— Chris Smith (@Chris_SXI) July 27, 2022 MLS teams making money from sell on fees from these moves to the Premier League, Philly for Aaronson, NURB for Adams, Dallas for Richards… A couple numbers have been floated out there, but, per sources, FC Dallas' sell-on % in Chris Richards is 35%. So they get 35% of the fee Crystal Palace paid Bayern Munich. The deal is around $15m up front, $20 with add-ons. So Dallas get at least $5m. https://t.co/uItWXtV1Za— Tom Bogert (@tombogert) July 27, 2022
the most i could find was 6- keller, mcbride and eddie johnson started (with dempsey and boca off the bench) vs howard for everton 3/16/08. ...6 1/2 if you want to count brede hangeland
Johann Smith, man, that brings back memories, I used to think he was the bees knees as a U20 fifteen or so years ago. Decades later, he's got what, 1 career club goal. Whoops.
He was also a much, much bigger idiot too! With all these guys in the EPL I might need to get Peacock. Anyone already pay for this?

Dike 14 to 1 to win Championship golden boot Also seen some cool UK betting odds for Championship Golden Boot. Teemu Pukki is 6/1 and the favorite, Daryl Dike is 14/1.— Larry Henry Jr (@lhenry019) July 28, 2022
Let's hope he can stay healthy... Steve Bruce on Daryl Dike: "He was a bit concerned last week because he had a bit of a sore groin, but the goal he scored will do him the world of good. It was a really good header. We just hope he can stay fit and stay well, that’s the key."#USMNT— Larry Henry Jr (@lhenry019) July 28, 2022
The arrival of DiMaria, Zakariah and Pogba makes McKennie very dispensable at 41M. I just couldn't see Wes fitting in with the crew that was playing v. Barcelona yday but I can definitely see him at Spurs. He should jump at the chance.
