I wish the club was a little more transparent before hand. Come to think of it, there was a video last week that showed Wes and Dusan working separately from the group in a pool. Both of them have yet to get minutes and both will be big players this season. 1 of which Juve splashed up to 80m on, the other is their leading CM goal scorer over the last 2 years.

Although I was frustrated not being able to see either play in Vegas or Dallas, I understand if they are recovering from some issues and aren’t being rushed. Not sure Wes’ issue, but I know Vlahovic had a groin thing over the break.

For those that may have tuned in for Dest, Locatelli had a damn good game as the LCM, Zakaria as the RCM didn’t look to great in my opinion. Fagioli was meh and Rovella as regista had ups and downs. For a 21 and 20 year old, understandable. Wes should be fine.

Zakaria has so much ability, but doesn’t influence the game consistently. His position in the Swiss midfield is tenuous.

While I’m sure it’s frustrating for him not to play in Dallas, that wasn’t exactly an FC Dallas crowd. I’m sure he told his family and friends he was unlikely to feature so nobody that mattered was surprised by him not playing.

I’d go so far as to say there’s no way they really think McKennie isn’t a starting midfielder.

You rang? Heading out on vacation tomorrow, looking forward to spending time in the cool and comfortable northwest. I’m not going to let those pesky excessive heat warnings scare me off.

Let Wes be Wes. He has to balance the trade-offs in soccer (and in life) for himself.

Not sure where you're going but it better be in the timber, near water because the PNW is cooking right now. And will be for about a week more.

well whether Wes just needs more training or protecting him due to Pogba's meniscus or due to Spurs preparing a nice offer - at least it does not seem like a snub from Allegri.

so are we going to see a photo (Twitter or Instagram or something) of him with some Juve teammates at Chick-Fil-A?

I think it’s more irrational to make playing time assessments during preseason.

Hopefully not a Harkes vs. Wynalda personal problem

I think it matters to some extent... particularly when there is a lot of competition for playing time and new faces on the team. In Wes' case it might matter a bit more because he has had a history of not staying entirely fit during the offseason. That being said... he always seems to find a way to prove himself useful and continues to grow in skill. I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt all things considered but I maintain it would be preferable for him to distance himself from the narrative that he arrives to camp out of shape. In the end I think he might be an even more important player for our WC chances than CP is. When in form I think he is an unreal two-way player. And more importantly, it seems like our set piece routines go from 0 to 100 on the danger meter when he is on the pitch.

A pretty good showing from Juve last night, no? I thought in general the team looked much more cohesive than last year and was more able to play through the middle rather than relying on the flanks. Defensively still a lot of things to work out but against a likely UCL semis team in Barca they held their own in a pretty intense friendly, at least until the last 25 minutes.

For sure, I was very happy all things considered! Kean scored a brace, Di Maria looks very dangerous, Locatelli (already talked about), Rovella at 20 didn’t back down to the Barca press and midfield, Bremer looked dominant. Lewandowski had to really work to even find the ball in places he can’t beat you from. Add in Vlahovic, Wes, Pogba and eventually Chiesa (fingers crossed he is the same player)…I think they will challenge for the Scudetto and should shoot for the QF of the CL.

LB and LW still look pretty pathetic and I’m not solid on Bonucci, Gatti, Rugani, or Danilo to partner Bremer. I thought Barca was going to smoke us like last preseason and that wasn’t the case until Juve had the U23 team and Primavera take-over. I digress, it is only preseason and much can change and quickly.

Danilo is really a weakness and so is Bonucci outside Serie A or against a really pacey attacking club. I can see why they figured with Pogba and who they have in attack and elsewhere (yes, fingers crossed on Chiesa) they could build a side meant to win 3-1 quite often.

Last year they had way too many ties that should have been less nervy 2 goal leads.

I like that Rovella kid and Di Maria is EXACTLY what you guys needed. I know it's sort of passe to say you're one great attacking mid away but he brings that element of verticality (direct play really however accomplished on ground or air or combo) missing from last year's plodding squad.

Hopefully Wes plays a big role and stays healthy and helps lead Juve back to a Scudetto.

Danilo has been one of Juve's best players the past two seasons, he's not someone I'm worried about. I'm more worried about Bonucci, Alex Sandro, Matt Di Sciglio and to a lesser extent Cuadrado.

Rumors that Juve are looking to bring in a starting LB, so hopefully that allows Alex Sandro to move on. Cambiasso should never have left on loan.

Oh and I'm not worried about McKennie (trying to keep it on topic), he'll be just fine. It was reiterated today by Agresti that he's not on the market.

    Well, anywhere but EPL land.

Seems directed to one place and one league only.

This constant back and forth on whether or not Juventus is willing to sell Weston is beyond annoying. Every player in the world is up for sale at the right price and Weston is no different. Haters love to grab on to these headlines and make it seem like Juventus doesn't want him or think he is good enough. It's ridiculous.

I’ll preface with the fact that I don’t think Wes will be leaving this summer. As others have pointed out, every player has a price. How affordable that price is…that is the difference in my opinion. I think 30m would be too low to replace a player who knows the club, Max, and his teammates. Not to mention he is still not at his prime. Juve should be looking to be close to doubling their purchase price.

When Aaronson goes for 30m, I can’t help but cackle when Wes is rumored at the same price.

Isn’t haters a completely obsolete term at this point?

I don’t mid these headlines. Why? He is valued!!!!!! It’s kinda of believable because Wes is actually worth something!!! Better than being on the reserves and hearing by the numbers coach lip service about him.

Same for Dest. These guys are actually valuable assets that will bring something, from good teams! Better than how it used to be.
Also, outside of the EPL, finances are more important than ever. You may actually have to get rid of a player you really want because he is one the he few you can get something for. I’d rather US players have these terrible type of problems.:D
