Is enough being done to help people when they have very poor mental health?

There's a growing awareness, but accessibility to proper mental health resources remains challenging. When I was 20 years old, I went through a hard depression; maybe this was the transition to maturity. Nobody told me what to do, and nobody asked how I felt. So I think society must have free access to resources for maintaining their mental health in a good shape.

What helped me was some individual therapies at Riviamind clinic. And I was lucky because I had the money for it, and I am sure there are many people who can't afford such therapies. Anyway, I want to share some tips that my therapist gave me.

She recommended grounding exercises like the "5-4-3-2-1" technique (spot 5 things you can see, 4 you can touch, 3 you can hear, 2 you can smell, and 1 you can taste). Journaling daily, even just jotting down three things I was grateful for, made a noticeable difference. And she emphasized the importance of regular sleep patterns and reduced screen time before bed. Hope these tips help someone out there.

I would find life easier if i was the only person and all i had to do was drink water and eat fruit all day.

Modern Life is too much for me to cope with.

serious question am I the only person who struggles with Mental health problems?

the mental health act reform of 1983 in the United Kingdom made mental health.

However good or bad your mental health is unless it is prefect then Maggie Thatcher due to her polices when she was UK Prime Minister May 1979 to November 1990 has caused your mental health to be worse than it would be if she had never been UK Prime Minister.

Goodness no - especially since the pandemic - mental health has been it's own pandemic. I hope you can get help for any struggles you are having. I also hope in 2023 there is a little less stigma on mental health issues. It's really common and really human.

It's a huge question, isn't it? Mental health support is crucial, and it often feels like we're still playing catch-up. Have you checked out platforms like trythecbd.com? Sometimes, alternative approaches can offer a different avenue of support. But overall, we definitely need more accessible and comprehensive mental health resources. The more options available, the better chance we have at truly helping everyone who's struggling.

deal with the root cause not the symptoms (prevention is better than cure).

Too much of a postcode lottery syndrome.
Some areas in Scotland like Inverness have rubbish mental health services but Aberdeen in Scotland have excellent mental health services.

Time some of the better mental health doctors were taken from better/good performing mental health services in one area to help improve mental health services in area(s) providing bad help with people's mental health

Where you live must not determine the quality of your mental health/the quality of help you get with your mental health. After all we are all equal.

Ps sometimes Mental Health can be like a house fire you sometimes need the help straight away but because there are waiting times by the time the help comes it is too late.

one of the best help i got with my mental health was from a lady who was just serving in a pub and had not medical training/only worked as a barmaid.

She realized I was struggling because i was over whelmed as i informed her i had autism and she had an autistic son.

But mental health depends to a very large extent on physical health. And physical health directly depends on physical activity. This is scientifically proven.

How would you realistically improve mental health services?

    you realistic ideas.

I think if one area/settlement has lost of good mental health doctors and other areas/settlements has only very poorly performing mental health doctors then some of the doctors from the good performing mental health area/should be made to be work in the poorly performing mental health area.

    Why?
It is unfair that some people in some areas get good/excellent mental health help but people in other areas get a crap mental health treatment just because of where they live.

not the best idea but something needs to be done regarding mental health services.

Are the most appropriate people/best people in society applying/getting mental health jobs in the first place.

I say this because a female waitress in a local pub (who was a waitress and not a medical doctor) gave better mental health help to me (I am autistic) as she had an autistic son than the 4 local medical doctors ever have/could.

She said to me that I am overwhelmed and that hit the nail on the head me more so to speak and helped me more than the 4 local doctors could help me!
