OK Ezra using all his subs AND killing the clock AND attacking subs to keep them on the back foot. I feel like this whole experience feels like PROGRESS.
That is debatable. He created some good chances. Mueller complaining that he didn’t pass him that one ball was hilarious because no way Mueller pass that chance up
Just seemed to be out of step tonight. No big deal. He’s improving at such a rate I wouldn’t think twice about tonight.
I think tonight was a big improvement over last week, even if that's a low bar, because he was awful last week.
Not to mention the first time with 3 straight wins since 2017 and the first win in Cascadia (Seattle, Portland, and Vancouver) ever. Optimism is getting real. All of the other results went the Fire’s way.
Should’ve bet on that 3-1 final. AJ Hudson’s was fun, great vibe and holy shit a road win, can’t complain! We still have a lot of work left to do and we haven’t done ourselves any favors until recently, but these past few games have been great and we if we can find a way to keep the momentum going for a few more we can be dangerous and have fun with what’s left of the season.
Yes Gutierrez should have given that one chance up but he's still active and creating chances. He's a child that needs to grow. But there's a spark there
First half was great and probably should’ve been up by two or three goals. Second half was more even, and were it not for Slonina making a great save, this game might’ve been a draw. That probably feels like a glass half empty perspective since every game turns on key moments of an inch here or there, but I don’t want the run of results to belie the underlying issues with this roster or encourage Georg Heitz in any way.
Agree. The first best chance Vancouver had pinged off the crossbar in the 7th minute. Fire could have been in the hole early and let's face it could have had a few more goals themselves as Guti should have passed it across the face of the goal instead of shooting himself and the Fire had one bounce off the inside of the post. Finishing is the biggest issue. Defense is pretty solid and chance creation is good.
“Key moments of an inch here or there” feel frequently like games where having a really good shot-stopping keeper give your three points instead of one outside of the two rough games a few months back, Gaga has been the superior shot-stopper to my eyes in most games this season
Gaga is probably the second to last person I’m worried about with this team. Czichos and Gaga are right behind Shaqiri in terms of the best on the field.
Did anyone else get a 1998 - 2000 Vintage Nowak feel when the Daquiri fella was stormin' down the field? Because I did and let me tell you my brothers in Christ, I haven't been this hard in a while. Also, the divorce will be final soon - what're all y'all's Moms & Sisters up to these days?
