Ceballos has done well since coming on. Seems to be picking up where he left off at the end of last season. He will be a good option for us.

Good run out for Vallejo, KCM and Ceballos. I really liked what I saw from Ceballos. Apart from the top...we have 2 fairly strong sides we can rotate with very little fear especially in La Liga.

We'll see substantial improvements in the coming weeks. Having said that, I'm curious as to why Carlo keeps insisting on this false 9 experiment. I have rarely seen someone pull it off. It typically only works with teams that play heavy possession based football, with lots of touches and movements in midfield and attack. Pep's teams mostly. We are the opposite of that, as we rely on counter attacking and intuitive play. I'm therefore having a hard time seeing how we can make it work with Hazard or Rodrygo. Sure, Benzema is basically the best hybrid forward I have ever seen and someone who - could be argued - basically plays a similar role, but Benzema is also one of the most special, rare talents in the history of the game. I don't know, just an observation. Finally, and this is not related to this game but our season in general, I still feel we need a stop-gap forward, be it on loan or a short-term contract. But I realize this is a very difficuly objective, considering the state of the market.
