Really worried about the weathers impact on this game. Already lost one home game, really don’t want to see another gone to the shitter.
Yep. Snow. That was a while back (that game was on NBCSN, for reference), but that was one of the most bizarre home/away series that ever happened. DC was supposed to have the deciding second leg at home, but the east coast got slammed by a hurricane. So they swapped; DC hosted first, the Red Bulls hosted second. And the second game got postponed for a day because a snowstorm hit and they couldn't keep the field clear. There was a famous video of Don Garber on the field with a snow shovel trying to help out.
So if there’s a noise ordinance set for 11pm Does that mean the game has to start by 930 or it gets pushed to Monday? Or gets pushed to another date in a few weeks?
Well, if you want to call this an "improvement"... The updated forecast calls for "thunderstorms" right up until 7 PM. Starting at 8 PM, it just says "rain." So, that makes it more likely they'll get it in, I guess.
Well. There must be something in the air. Another two-goal comeback win. Charlotte was up 2-0 in Miami, ended up losing 3-2. That means if we win HIR, we'll climb up to 6th, and be in a points tie for 5th with Orlando (pending their game against Atlanta).
If anyone is worried about the weather and has extra tickets, I would love to take them off your hands.
Long article on espn.com about MLS rivalry week. Mentions Columbus and Cincinnati towards the end. https://www.espn.com/soccer/major-l...obal-footballs-bread-and-butter-the-derby-day One fan, after a recent NYCFC game, told ESPN: "I appreciate MLS trying to make Rivalry Week a thing -- upping the stakes, making it more than just a game -- but you can't force Columbus to dislike Cincinnati, for example."
The noise ordinance is BS and I'm sure the Crew would just deal with it. The Tame Impala show went until 1230 am I was at a month or so ago.
Well, the only issue (and we know it’s a big one) is lightening. We could get several inches of rain today, and the stadium’s water drainage system would remove it within minutes. So the playing surface will be fine. The roof for the fans? Well, a vast improvement over HCS, to be sure. Will this be the first major test that’ll show us just how many leaks the new roof has?
I dont much mind any of that. What will really piss me off is a repeat of standing out in the rain and lightning for an hour and a half because they won't let us go sit under the roof in the seats I paid for.
No. The thing that grinds my gears the worst is that to this day the team has never explained it. We all think we know what the deal was - they didn't want to make their employees stand out in the open - but that only leads to wondering how they justify protecting 15 people while forcing 15,000 to stand out on the plaza where, by their logic, it's dangerous. Furthermore, since those gates are very much portable, why not just set them up at the top of the steps under the canopy? Yes, it would te d to eliminate whatever plaza activities they wanted to set up, but how many people are going to want to play cornhole in the rain anyway?
Which is exactly what they did at the last delay. I'm not sure it may have been the best idea from other standpoints, but oh well.
It's hard to imagine it raining harder than it did vs Atlanta a couple times at HCS. If those games were completed, HiR will be. And the wise will bring rain gear with them, the roof had a lot of leaks the last time I was there.

It’s obviously a derby between two teams that are fighting for playoff position. We have a chance to kind of go over the top of them in the standings or obviously, they have a chance to go further away from us.] Hopefully Caleb’s highlighter works better than the circle in pen.
