As I said, I don’t know him, but I’m curious on how he came to play for England yute?
Perhaps a great, great, great, grandfather in the peninsula wars with Wellington???

 

he's a very exciting young talent. on the ball, a faster / stronger Coutinho at his best I'd say from what I've seen.

I'm sure a lot of scouts and coaches in England / Europe were totally pissed seeing us get him.

 

Reading Jurgen's comments today, his versatility a plus as not settled at a position. I think this will be a development year for him. He will play but will need to mature more physically (especially for when he plays false 9.

I think this year, the option of having him and Harvey Elliot as guys that can really change the pulse of our midfield play mid-game (and th e5 subs) is going to make for some very dynamic games.

 

Carvalho and Elliott were both quite good in the friendly vs. Palace, especially Harvey. I think he could back to the form he showed before getting injured last season.

Carvalho is super quick. I don't think he has any problem physically with this level. We'll see how well he blends in with the others in the early going. Very promising.

 

So from what I've seen and read carvalho is a typical technical/flair player that you seem to get more of in Spain/Portugal/South America so is he lost to England? Seeing how this type of players are rare in England I think he would be a bigger loss to England than Portugal on the international stage

 

I know he's been playing for \\Portugal U21's despite earlier on being involved in Englands youth teams.

I think he'd still be eligible to play for England at full international level should Southgate be able to persuade him.
