It feels very weird to me seeing CHI lose to PAR... I mean, occasionally PAR has a better showing than CHI at the club level in the annual Copa Libertadores, but CHI has had the slight upper hand for a while.

Was Christiane Endler in goal for Chile?

Yes she was, even had one really good save but in all honesty this Chile team is past their peak and in need of major shakedown.
Don't get me wrong Endler is still good but Pauline Peyraud-Magnin is my no.1 at the moment.

In this table, Argentina should be second for best average goal.

Looking at the tournament's rule book, VEN has qualified for the 5th-place match, even if PER reaches 6 points with any goal differential.

After watching ARG destroy URU yesterday, I seriously doubt that VEN will advance to the final-four stage.

BRA will aim to win its next match by 3 goals or more: it will lose FIFA ranking points otherwise. This already happened when it beat URU by just 3 goals, in group match day 2.

I agree with you. Venezuela's coach Mrs Conti has failed to amalgamate this excellent group of players. Every lineup is a failed experiment. This will be for Venezuela like a "Deja vu" of the Copa America 2018 where the Vinotintos lost their crucial match against Argentina, in a group where Brazil also happened to be.
The only way for Venezuela to beat Argentina would be with brilliant individual action from one of their stars like Deyna, Viso or Altuve. But I see it difficult.

CHI up 3-0 over BOL after the first 17min tonight... Gotta make up that GD to help stay above ECU! (Though I don't think ECU gets any more points tonight or next matchday.)

The LOC must make sure that ECU does not win tonight, otherwise their rulebook will be worthless.

According to tie-breaker rules, a 6pt four-way tie would place:
    - ECU above COL
    - PAR above CHI
    - CHI over ECU, and
    - COL over PAR

In other words: PAR >> CHI >> ECU >> COL >> PAR ...

Some good ol' Conmebol refereeing will be enough to stop ECU from embarrassing the tournament.

First tiebreak is just "points obtained in matches between the teams in question", not a direct H2H ranking, so if everyone is on 3pts (in a large I-beat-you-beat-them-beat-them-beat-me loop), you just move to the second tiebreak. The exact pairwise results wouldn't matter; nothing confusing or infinite about that.

The 2nd and 3rd tie-breakers are currently inapplicable, since the loop asks to evaluate results of future matches.

Table status would be undefined as of match day 4.

Where in the world do you get that idea? Table status is always evaluated as it currently stands, regardless of how many matches are played. You don't need to wait for "missing matches" in the theoretical four-team table after today to rank the teams. You can still compare the existing GDs and GFs even as everyone knows it's been an uneven schedule to this point. Heck, that's how it would work for three-team ties that you see frequently, no different for this theoretical four-team tie.

I think you need to stop thinking about it as a "loop" that you evaluate as links, and instead think about it as a mini-table evaluated all at once.

Hot damn, CHI definitely didn't show up this year... They got combed by COL. Deservedly not going to the SFs I guess, but still rather surprising to me how much they've slipped from previous years.

And unsurprisingly, ECU has been eliminated, though it looks like they played PAR pretty close.

Paraguay will neither beat Brazil, Colombia or Argentina (expect those to qualiffy directly). La Albirroja will most likely finish 4th but with the ticket into intercontinental play-offs. Chile will have to play Venezuela for it in 5th place match (unless Venezuela upsets Argentina in last match of group B - small chance I think).

Inter-confederation play-offs gonna be fun to watch.

UEFA team (20-ish) seeded group A
    Chile (38) seeded group B
Chinese Taipei (40) seeded group C (may yet overtake Chile in ranking)

    Thailand (43)
    best OFC - PNG (49)
Paraguay (50) (may yet overtake PNG in ranking)
    Cameroon (54)
    Panama (57)
    Haiti (60)
    Senegal (89)

Venezuela (52) may advance into play-off instead of Chile. In that case Chinese Taipei will be seeded in group B and Paraguay most likely in group C.

While I generally do cheer for the Argentine women, part of me is chuckling at the possibility of two neighbor-country matches on the next matchday if Venezuela get the upset tonight...

    No upset.
Argentina became the first COMNEBOL team to qualify for the next Olympics and WC by defeating Colombia 1-0 tonight.

Brasil plays Paraguay tomorrow. The winner also qualifies for both tournaments. The loser plays Columbia in the third place match for the third COMNEBOL WC slot. The loser of that match plays in the Inter confederation playoffs to qualify for the WC.

I think you're confused as to the format and the stage we're in? No one has qualified for the final yet, nor the WC or OG. Tonight was the last night of group B play.

The semifinals have only just now been set, COL-ARG and BRA-PAR. Semifinals don't play until the 25th

Paraguay gets third and qualifies for the WC.

Argentina & Chile qualify for the inter-continental playoff.
