No matter how hard we don't try, it's unrealistic to expect us to win the wooden spoon every year. Sometimes you're just going to fail and end up with Luis Suarez. Make your peace with it.

the spoon would give us the number 1 pick, take it a scrap this year. use it to assess talent and come out next year on fire.

Yea the draft is a joke and we all know it. We can get players that kinda panned out from previous drafts for pennies nowadays in the transfer season.

Headline from the future: DC United trades #1 pick for some Garber Bucks™ and a bag of Old Bay Goldfish crackers!

We should do just that, no joke. We're going to end up getting a pick outside of the top 3 so just trade all of our picks away and get some guys who are 23-27 years old and can play.

It'd be worth it for the Old Bay Goldfish crackers. Those things are the bomb.

Daily mail (I guess they are on what amounts to a roll for them) proposing Lingard and Ravel Morrison as acquisitions.

Attackers are great but hey didnt a team just put up seven on us in a game where we lost our starting left back for the season

There's also an unconfirmed rumor from someone on Reddit that says a report on Houston radio this morning indicated DC are in talks with Houston regarding trading for defender Teenage Hadebe.

Interesting. According to this tweet from May '21, we were interested in him along with Houston at that time.

Goff already tweeted a follow-up to say Morrison would be a TAM player, not a DP. Also admits that makes a lot more sense.

The Fail has some lines on Rooney. They were ahead of most on that when we were still laughing at the idea of it actually happening.

It could be a more immediately promising approach than what got us most of our current roster.
