He cannot find a club to pay him what he thinks he is worth and pay Real Madrid a fee for his transfer.
"We won’t sign anyone else.""We have room to improve and do better compared to last season.""We’ll face teams with different characteristics in the Soccer Champions Tour."Here’s what Ancelotti said in his first press conference of pre-season. https://t.co/rmV0I57JeT— Managing Madrid (@managingmadrid) July 14, 2022 Wow, I guess our summer buying is done
🚨🎖| Real Madrid have been asked to assess Sané’s situation. It will depend on sales and the situation of players that are of interest to Real Madrid. @MarioCortegana pic.twitter.com/EM621eslcY— Madrid Xtra (@MadridXtra) July 14, 2022 🚨🎖| BREAKING: Leroy Sané has been offered to Real Madrid. The club is focused on sales as of now. @MarioCortegana— Madrid Xtra (@MadridXtra) July 14, 2022 These are the kind of options in the market lol. Sane has been below par since ACL injury and is a LW. Think we are smart enough not to have another misfit on a 5 year deal.
Obviously they generate some small income for the club but I won't be excited that we stole some 9 year old from Atletico that won't be relevant in 2 months yet alone in 10 years.
Bayern trying to pawn off Sane made me think of our “useful” players we have tried to offload. Our price tag for Ceballos 15M. No offers. not even Betis. Our latest reported price tag (not the joke 40M that was reported earlier) for Asensio 20M. No offers. Our price tag for Jovic, Free. No takers until we had to rope in Fiorentina with offering half his salary. this is how hard it’s been this summer to off load players. The market is what it is.
The reality is our players (Asensio, Jovic, and Ceballos) are worth nothing - other teams have eyes and can see how useless they are for us, what would make them think any differently?
The idea that players like Marco and Ceballos are worth nothing is ridiculous, they are teams out there that can absolutely use some of the players we do not need, unfortunately they probably can't afford them in terms of what the club thinks they are worth, two completely different scenarios.
Sane is very overrated................he was a benchwarmer for Sterling,Mahrez etc at City and at Bayern he has been average.Gnabry/Mane/Musiala are better than him . Just give a chance to Arribas/Federico

I think Mayoral is a decent back up we have had for Benz since 2016-17 Morata if he can replicate his scoring record at Roma and Getafe when called up on. His link up play is decent as well.
That's just not true at all. Mid-lower table PL clubs easily splash 20-30m on mediocre players from other leagues, and on trash players they deem as "PL proven". You can't convince me that someone like Chris Wood is worth 30m/Rhian Brewster is worth 25m while Asensio and Jovic are worth nothing. We are just unbelievably bad at marketing and selling our players, especially to the PL, where all the money is. Apart from obvious top players who sell themselves (Morata at the time, Kovacic, Varane, etc), almost all our business is done with broke La Liga/Serie A clubs who only want loan deals (Reguilon is the only exception). We should actively try to loan our unwanted players to the PL, even if we are going to pay a good chunk of their wages at first, because I guarantee you that if Mayoral or Jovic had scored 10 PL goals while on loan, some mid-lower table PL club will be ready to pay a 20-30m transfer fee + their full wages.
We gave Jovic away for free, Betis won’t pony up 10m for Ceballos and Mendes shoppes Asensio around Europe and we got zero offers…. Market tells us their value.
Teams don't want to pay transfer fees for Ceballos, Asensio etc. Same situation as Pogba, Dybala etc last summer. Even Dembele after strong season didn't have offers he expected as free signing. Instead took 40% wage cut to renew with Barca. Injury prone, players with attitude issues etc are seen as huge gambles by clubs even on free transfer let alone for a fee.
With Gnabry renewing, I don’t see an affordable and quality market opportunity available. I wish we would try to hijack Bernardo Silva from potentially going to Barca, but that’s going to be a hefty fee. Interesting players whose contracts expire in 2024 (will have 1 year left next summer): Leao, Pulisic, Rashford, Gouiri, Saka, Olmo
City would be dumb to sell Silva. Even given the Barca love of Txiki, Fran and Pep, don't seem them gifting him to Barca and jeopardizing their own chances in PL. It's not like selling discards like Sterling, Gab Jesus and Ake.
He seems to be a jack of all trades at City. I'd like to see how many games he's started in CM, wing, False 9 respectively. From what I could see Pep seemingly prefers Gundogan, Rodri, KDB midfield over Silva who got alot of game time as a false 9. He'd be a good buffer to those kids Barca have though.
Also I bet Qatar regrets not buying a club in EPL. City are selling alot of deadwood for millions which sorts of papers over the illegal dealings they perform on an almost yearly basis. QSG otoh are struggling to shift any of their deadwoods
He started 27 games as CM. Gundogan has always been injury prone. Silva is more important to City than Gundogan, Foden etc. https://www.whoscored.com/Players/136741/Show/Bernardo-Silva
I don't watch City enough to know who is more important. I just remember seeing Gundogan in there alot when I watched them. I think there are very few untouchables in that team and none of those 3 are one of them.
