On the last goal, Moreira jumped out of the way of an easy block and Santos just completely whiffed on the clearance.
I agree. DC's last goal, attacker jumped on his back then scissors kick tripped our defender. and the pro DC announcers are like, it's nothing and the Ref agrees?!?!?
Our defense was terrible all match. Open runners in the box all night long We're really lucky to get a point here. Love seeing more Lucas-Cucho magic. Look forward to have our starting CB pairing back.
Say what you want. That was two points thrown away against one of the worst teams in the league... And on the balance of the game, Cucho aside (with a dash of Lucas, we probably should have lost) Can't call that anything but disappointing And that is also the kind of team performance that already leads to Cucho not being happy here.
Two guys holding each other doesn’t mean one can scissor chop the other down from behind after they disengage.
No, but it would mean that if you're going to be looking at the video, and you decide there's a foul on DC, you probably have to call a penalty anyway.
Anibaba was holding first. So even if you decide there's reason enough to disallow the goal, you probably have to away a penalty for holding anyway.
That’s never going to be reversed from VAR - I’m not sure what y’all are thinking. They were both all over each other.
It was a foul but no way it would be overturned either way Because Annaba was booking him and Dc player was definitely for int the issue . Anniba probably trying to stay up right with that wrap around hook
Denied of a three-game road winning streak, which would have been their first since 2015. Unbeaten in last five...their first such streak in 12 years, according to Neil. (It seems unbelievable.)
Great...but we have eight draws in 19 matches. That could really bite us in the ass on decision day if the point race is tight. If one or two of those draws(such as this evening) could have been a win.....
A Dive is selling no contact to me, selling minimal contact while annoying is not the same thing. Ref made a by the book call instead of using good judgment
I think you're right. We need to enjoy having Cucho while we can. Yes, it's only been two games, but Cucho probably doesn't belong in this league and it's not going to take him all that long to figure that out. These kind of defensive performances are only going to make it that much more obvious to him. The fact of that matter is that DC could have easily had four goals in the first half. That's how laughably bad our defense is.
Whatever we all think about the call on the equalizer, the truth is that a draw was probably a fair result, considering the chances DC missed early, the missed PK, and our failure to take advantage of that odd-man rush after it was 2-1. There's an argument to be made that considering our best players are only playing half-matches, and who was unavailable, it's not the end of the world. But this is also why I was trying to temper my enthusiasm. It's going to be an exciting ride, but it's not going to be without bumps in the road. We're nowhere near playing flawless ball yet.
That ref was an absloute twat. That said both goals the crew gave up were absolutely negligent. I am still optimistic though. Top three finish in the east.
While I'm pissed about the result, I am glad to have tickets for Sunday, and I am looking forward to the rest of this season. Me gusto. Me gusto Cucho. Me gusto Cucho mucho.
My current enthusiasm is tempered a bit by the knowledge that if he keeps this up somebody in Europe is going to offer the Haslams $40 million for his contract and we'll be right back to starting Moe, Curley and/or Larry. But we could be in for some fun in the meantime, if the defense can hold up their end.
We managed only 3 shots on goal, and 6 total shots against a team that leaked seven goals last match. Can't complain too much about the ref when you were the 2nd best team for about 82 of 90+ minutes. It wasn't good enough last night, and Porter even said as much when he said the draw was a fair result. It's also a point we wouldn't have got a few months back. Onward.
Every point earned brings us closer to the playoffs. Even single points against sh!t teams on the road.
Most teams that give up that many goals in a previous match tend to focus on taking care of having that not happen two games in a row.
