we booked 4 nights in abu dhabi/dubai on while taking a match day shuttle to do 1 match. If an airbnb has no reviews... don't stay there. I just looked over airbnb for a random nov week and theres enough availability you should just do a slot with reviews.
Whilst some (most) are looking for ARG-MEX tickets this is where most of my research is currently going! based on generic cruise info (I've never been on a cruise in my life) I've found the following information... The cruise ships will be selling alcohol (as far as the booking data suggests, they do have alcohol licenses, they would normally sell in Qatar/Dubai etc its only when in Saudi waters/dock do the go dry. A beer/lager (Heineken 400ml) is about 8 euro on MSC ship, this is for the cheapest beer. Drinks packages are sometimes not available on short cruises (I'm staying 2 night on the Poesia). Drinks packages are charged per day but effectively by the number of nights) Some cabins have mini bars (8 euro for 1x330ml Bud!), mini bar not included in drinks packages. If one person gets a drinks package then all those in the same cabin have to get the same drinks package (unless under 18/21) the bars seem to stay open quite late, usually driven by demand, hopefully it'llbe open after getting back from a 10pm kick off for a few beers. There's plenty of bars on both boats (a night club on the Poesia!). They should be showing the games on the big screens by the pool area which should be fun. Anyone else staying on the boats? should be quite good fun I think Anyone stayed on a floating hotel for WC/Olympics have any info to share?
And MSC do status matches from Marriot/Hilton etc, no idea if it will be successful or if it will honoured during the WC (the hotels are not I believe) but worth a try to get some extras/discount
Yes I'm looking for ARG-MEX tickets.. but mostly planning the shopping list for a friend living in Doha with alcohol license That non-ACd fan village cabin hangover on a somehow exceptionally hot November morning will be brutal.
I don't know if this scrafs are official merch but the first one I bought was at the stadium in sochi. I haunted them the whole tournement down and got only five of them. Someone told me only 500 got in the market for some matches.
Airbnb in Dubai, definitely had a few reviews. I wouldn't touch one that didn't, unless randomly it's the 1st time they've rented it, but more than likely a potential chance for scam. I got a 2 bedroom in high rise near Burj Khalifa, about $150/night for a week. But as with anything buyer beware, I guess.
Adidas is a fifa partner. You won’t find any Nike at any World Cup event (fan fest , game etc). Nike may have a few stores in Doha at malls and you may be able to get Nike gear there. But it won’t be World Cup gear.
Im not getting an audio alarm on the scanner when a match hits. Volume is all the way up on my computer. Is there something else that Im missing?
has someone booked cruise ships for their stay, we think it would be exciting to live on a ship but would take any advice from someone whos been there and been to harbor in Doha already
Not sure about this cruise precisely, but cruises overall are actually pretty nice. You have mini water park inside. You have different restaurants. If you are a family with young kids, they usually have shows for them. You have of course the casino which is a money machine for them
I'm staying in a hotel/resort for a week in Dubai and flying in for match days on 5 days. The prices for Qatar are crazy and I'm tired of looking for new releases plus airfare to Dubai is cheaper than flying into qatar
Question about the scanner... to track Match 64 on the domestic site I would enter +64D3 (for category 3) ?
I am doing the same. Found a decent amount of places with reviews on booking and airbnb. Compared to how expensive flights were between Dubai and Doha a few months ago, along with the lack of accommodation, can’t really grumble about the shuttle back and forth.
I'm also flying to Dubai and staying there for a few days. I'll take a shuttle for Uruguay-Portugal. But I will later stay a few days in a metal box in Doha.
I'm staying on the World Europa for a few nights, and I'm really looking forward to it! Do you know if access to the cruise facilities has an additional cost? I'm reading that World Europa has many pools, arcades, gyms, bumper cars, etc.
Usually many of these come with the price that you already paid. There should also be a free buffet for the entire ship. You will also find restaurants that you need to pay for of course. Pools, arcades (I think), gyms and bumper cars should all be within the room charge. This is the "typical" way cruises run. Not sure though how these things would be.
Oh yeah. I’ve never seen those at games tho. But if they do pop up, it’ll be only the Adidas kit. So for the USA vs Argentina quarter final … they would only sell the Argentina kit
