Because the social media posts were full of replies from non-soccer folks who were confused (or other things) about the male professional athlete wearing something that looks like a sports bra.
I don't get why we should care anymore. Anyway, since the Crew is buried on Bally Sports, how are non-soccer people in a position to be scandalized by soccer player undergarments?
Enter Sirk. A Big Thing: Cucho Debuts in Historic Crew Comeback | Sirkbook.com He accomplished this feat in a match that was only the second time the Crew have ever rallied from a 2-0 deficit to win a road game. Columbus is now 2-88-6 all-time when falling behind 2-0 away from home. The only other win under such circumstances was on October 11, 2014, at Phildelphia, when the Crew scored in the 78th, 79th, and 82nd minutes to stun the Union, 3-2.
I hate the look whatever happened to the chip in your shoe (boot , cleat, whatever you want to call it ) I remember buying my son this stuff when he was like u12 and bought him the Messi cleats
Nope. If you want to look at it (and us) in the most positive light. We are currently 6th in the East on PPG. A win tomorrow puts us above the line, regardless of other results. A win + a win in HiR (knock on wood) and we can be no lower than 6th and will probably be knocking on the door for 4th (with a game in hand on most). We are currently unbeaten in six (3 W, 3 D). While I would like to see more wins at home. More wins vs quality teams. Better offense. Better set piece defending. And the team at full strength (Cucho starting, Artur & Degenek healthy, Molino contributing). I think we are getting closer on all fronts. NYRB sit top (ATM) with 33 from 20. If we win the next two (knock on wood) we will have played 20 games and have 31 pts (knock on wood). Right in the thick of things.
Because there are a lot of sports fans who *don't* know about it--and as the new guy in town Cucho is getting a lot of press.
Well that was a good trip. Hit a bunch of museums, freaked my kid out on the ledge at Sears tower, nice weather, Crew win(had row 1 seats behind the north goal, but literally everything happened on the south end), post match fireworks, post post match fireworks by Navy Pier. Side note, if you do ever go up the Sears tower, do whatever you can to get expedited tickets(or just get the CityPass and hit a bunch of stuff). It probably saved us 2 hours in lines with just the tower.
This is good advice in many major cities. We grabbed a museum pass in Paris at one of the smaller museums (the Roman ruins by Notre Dame--no line at all) which was a big time saver at the Louvre and the Musee de Orsay. Similar experiences in Berlin, Cologne, Rome, and Florence. Some include transit passes. When we went to the Accademia (we'd booked that and the Uffizi in advance), they also printed off our tickets for the Uffizi the next day, saving a fair bit of time.
On this we agree. It's hilarious that it had to be explained, and interesting that it wasn't the Dispatch Soccer Reporter that stepped up to do the explaining. But to the larger question of who cares: "WhY iS tHaT mAn WeArInG a BrA?!"
Yeah, the 12 points in our last 6 games has helped a lot. If we managed that pace the rest of the regular season, we'd be at 57 point at year's end. That would likely have us in the top 3 in the conference. Of course we'd have to beat some teams with good records to get there.
This type of content is pretty awesome. Cucho really seems to be integrating well with the team already, although scoring a game winning goal will definitely help with that process. Celebrating in Chi-Town 🙌#Crew96 | @WhiteClaw pic.twitter.com/nDqMstxcbp— The Crew (@ColumbusCrew) July 11, 2022
Post game, Coachbot talked about how Cuchos attitude and enthusiasm and joy in the game had really infected the whole team. Not that you could tell from watching the first half but there's no question that when he hit the field it was Iike someone hit a switch. That's the kind of thing it's easy to over sell, particularly this early but it's clear the team really likes him and he just likes winning.
Just look at the celebration after his GWG. Now, I’d hope they be excited for any game winner in that fashion, but something just felt different about the teams celebration. Just look at Zelarayán in the middle of that group hug.
Beating bad teams is good. Beating bad teams on the road is seen better. Beating bad teams on the road is actually necessary when you are dropping points to the likes of Charlotte and being shut out by the likes of Orlando at home. It's difficult to know whether this trend will continue, but the schedule is extremely favorable for Columbus the rest of the month. While I think New England is better than us, we have them at home. Two winnable road matches in DC and Charlotte. FCC for Cuchos home debut. 9 or 10 points out of a possible 12 there and there will be more teams below us, especially with 3 of those games against direct rivals for one of the last 2 or 3 playoff spots.
One advantage we (and any team with a bit of momentum) have that’s becoming increasingly apparent is that it’s a pretty weak year in the Eastern Conference. Maybe that’s an overstatement. There are a few solid teams, but none are close to dominant. It’s a fairly wide open conference.
