West Ham seems like it would be a good move, and I suspect Moyes may really suit him. Possibly.

But even then... he's not a lock starter or anything. Antonio, Bowen, Benrahma, Fornals, Lanzini, those are productive, experienced prem attackers. It does seem like it would be a good opportunity to play more, in general, and perhaps make a starting position his, but I wonder how much he would cut his wages for that kind of move. Because at his current wage he would -- I think quite comfortably? -- be their top earner.

Seems Sterling has agreed to a Chelsea move...Not new news, just confirmation of what we expected I guess.

    https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/61942360

From the article, Raheem still has lofty, lofty goals....

City wanted Sterling to stay and he has no ill feeling towards the club or manager Pep Guardiola.

However, he views this as the most important contract of his career and wants to play a pivotal role at a club challenging for all the major honours.

Sterling still has team and professional targets he wants to fulfil, including winning the Ballon D'Or.

Apart from Manchester United players, only John Terry and former City team-mate Fernandinho have won more than his four Premier League titles.

However, he is still to win a Champions League.

Think it's a good move for everyone involved, depending on fee and wages; he was making a truckload at City, after all...

If he sees himself as a default starter then he should do what Sterling has done and take a small step down a level.

I got no real idea, obviously, but I'm dubious this works out well for Sterling. Thinking about the transfers in/loan returns since TT took over, has anyone worked out well? I must be missing someone, and he had some structural issues to work with, but still, not sure this will be a super-successful jump.

He's the best winger that Chelsea has had since Hazard, so maybe that will help somewhat?

But I tend to think of successful Sterling as playing off really strong/dynamic 9... Suarez, Aguero, Kane for England, etc. I don't know if Havertz particularly fits that bill, but either way it's hard to fault the signing; Sterling is a fairly elite attacking mid, makes sense for any many top clubs to be after him.

At least, those that can afford him... reportedly getting a raise on his ~300k a week by going to Chelsea.

Yeah, you probably got to take him if you get the shot and can afford him, if your an English club, I'm just not convinced this will be a phoenix moment for him. I still don't think TT is using his attacking talent in general (outside the full-backs) to optimum. At some point it may not be the personnel.

Thank you. Is it just me, or did it seem, at the end, when all the players were seated, and then Tuechel walks in and sits in the middle, that CP seemed to kind of frown for a few seconds and then, at the very end, kind of force a smile for the camera?

everyone got more serious (not smiling) when Tuchel walks into the frame ... then after he sits everyone poses a smile for the camera.

I just don't Tuchel will ever receive the affection of his players that Klopp does. Just the way it is.

the double "hint" is that they will not be trading Dave or CP I guess. Interesting.

    Silly season.

Yes, because expressing dissatisfaction with your coach during a promotional video shoot seems totally logical.

Really? I think it is hideous... That collar is just - yikes. And I still cannot get over the horrible dragon like #3 as the sponsor.

It seemed like they were all intentionally pretending to get "nervous" when Tuchel arrived. Like it was an intentional joke about them sitting up straight for the boss.

Yeah I dig it. I like real clean simple designs with bold highlights. Like the button on the collar too.

Never been a fan of that weird "3" sponsor, agree with you there.
