Oh, haven't heard, but see that apparently a couple of MLS teams have approached him. Seeing talks of record breaking deals. Since the Gs don't have a DP spot open, I am going to assume they are not one of the two clubs.
I can confirm that Brugman is a TAM player. 3 1/2 year contract through 2025 but with a team option for 2026.#LAGalaxy #MLS— Corner Of The Galaxy (@GalaxyPodcast) July 6, 2022 Now we just need to lock up Lindgard with boatloads of TAM for the rest of this season and Chicharito's huge DP contract for the next 2 years after that and we are all set...
Maybe not Lindgard but Vanney seems to indicate Brugman is one of two players they are hoping to bring in this window....
I was going to say we could if AEG wrote some big checks to terminate Costa but I don't think you can legitimately buy out a DP (a la Gio) during a season. So it would have to be shady as hell with either a sale to AEG owned Hammerby or claim some sort of contract violation that allows us to dump Costa. Not going to happen in my mind. For what it is worth, haven't seen the player yet, but I like the idea behind the new TAM signing. We'll see if it works out or not. Our track record is not promising so refusing to get my hopes up.
Brugman is deep-lying two-way, not a CAM/WINGER - Lindgard is more Lodeiro. Brugman is more Michael Bradley. Maybe that is too simplistic but that was the first comparisons that came to mind.
It honestly makes no sense. Not now. And really not then. in all the world, with no limitations on money to spend, we chose to sign Costa? I need a 30 for 30 on the Galaxy FO and how these decisions get made.
Isn’t he technically on loan with an option to buy? If so couldn’t Juventus recall him from his loan for a boat load of money?
WATCH: @TaylorTwellman said on @110football that the #LAGalaxy will “100% be in” on trying to sign Jesse Lingard 👀Watch the full interview here: https://t.co/EYteRScGQ2 pic.twitter.com/UxBKBc1naM— Eli Lesser (@EliLesserTV) July 6, 2022
Can’t post the tweet for whatever reason, but Twellman followed up by saying that it’s all dependent on moving Costa and whether Lindgard prefers Florida or California
1. If we could move Costa for Lindgard that would be a brilliant move. 2. We wouldn't need to make brilliant moves if we just didn't make stupid moves (signing Costa in the first place).
And it looks like I've been adding an extra D in his last name. In my defense, I don't read or write British.....
Which mess does he want to commit to? Beck’s mess or Klein’s mess? I wish I could hear the pitch each team is going to give this guy.
This is great news. His position is not our biggest need but as the resident “stats history tea-leaf reader” (that doesn’t even make sense) I expect him to bring a lot of order to our midfield and he will get a few goals and assists. I would put an 85% probability I am correct about this. Unfortunately we still have terrible final third passers unless Aguirre proves the real deal or Sasha drinks from the fountain of youth. Trust me, none of Raveloson, Grandsir and Cabral have suddenly figured this out. However if Vanney sticks to two forwards (and he should be shot otherwise) the assists will come a bit easier. Both because of better finishers on the field but also because Joveljic brings calmness and intelligent movement to the box.
From Vanney’s mouth Costa is a big asset, “as good as a summer signing.” That makes us unloading him unlikely.
