Daily Donuts in downtown Sunnyvale has them all beat ;)

Seriously though, I would never get donuts at Dunkin when there's local small business shops all around town.

There is an excellent documentary on Hulu about how Cambodians took over the donut business in LA. I recognize many of the shop names in LA in the Bay Area (such as Daily Donuts although the Sunnyvale location the owners are not Cambodian).

edit: apparently no longer on Hulu

Will give Daily Donuts a try!

The left coast Cambodian primacy in the donut biz extends into NorCal, too, I believe. Coincidentally, Rollo’s is run by a wonderful Laotian family.

How about just put on a decent soccer game and dump this kiddie-crap?

Think big, Earth! Rep your namesake! Beyond Quakes soccer! I haven't actually seen one so can't say for sure, but "drone shows" seem like an interesting alternative to traditional fireworks. You can still sync the visuals with music and stuff. Cleaner, pet friendly, and you can do these elaborate designs, etc.

Don't fall for it, Jazzy, they just use it to distract you from the annual mediocrity that is the San Jose Earthquakes. :D

Come for the drone show, but first stay for the mediocre soccer!

FWIW, Quakes are an undefeated 4-0-1 at home since Covelo took over. That's almost Chris Leitch-like (2017)! :)

And in the blue/black/blue, no less. :)

Seriously, the blue/black/blue (particularly the current version) looks so f-ing majestic!

The Quakes haven't had on field fireworks in 10 years.

By the way, even though they won, watching the replay, they played worse than boring Doyle ball!

Coffee in a Dunkin store is just plain awful (just as bad as the donuts) so I image the stuff you buy in the grocery store is too. You really should grind your own beans though (Costco is much cheaper for a big ass bag but you have to account for the freshness of the beans too).

I highly recommend this relatively cheap automated espresso machine... just set the water setting for a full cup (instead of a small espresso shot) and you get what I think is about the perfect cup of coffee:

    I retract!

They beat the worst team in the east and second to worst in the league , hitting two posts with no style, flash or finish.

    What a thrilling game!

I've found a new favorite coffee since moving to MadCity. I have generally always enjoyed the local bargain brands at Costco - it was San Francisco Bay Organic Rainforest Blend in Santa Clara - and now I'm drinking this local coffee (about $16 for a two-lb bag). Just a fantastic blend. I get the roasted beans and grind them fresh every day.

    @don gagliardi

My cousins in Niagara Falls on the Canadian side go to Tim Horton's a lot.

They say it's pretty good too.

    Cool menu...

I don't follow the sport but supposedly they have the best junior hockey players as well.

True story - I had a college roommate who was a Canadian-Italian soccer player from Niagra Falls, Canada, on a soccer scholarship at UCLA. Unfortunately he blew his leg up early in his freshman year. Looks like he did OK after that - played on varsity I think. I wonder if your cousins know / knew him? Angelo Stroffolino.

Wow, amazing. He's an old guy like me - if it's the same person. I didn't know if he'd returned to Canada. I don't think he liked southern California that much - thought it was too phony :).
