My group keeps growing. Central Americans (like me who follow Argentina) and Mexicans. We’re up to 13 now. Messi and Mexico are the biggest draw. Let WC for Messi.
Don't think demand games have been any easier than knockout stages. Sometimes if you are lucky enough to enter early, you get a false sense of security of "low demand". But once everything is over, ppl are still looking for tickets. This happened to me today with Argentina vs Saudi game. I went in, saw cat 3 sold out but rest were available - so i was just browsing to see other games to come back and next 5 to 10 mins - everything is gone LOL. And then I started regretting it not because i am gonna miss an argentina game but I am gonna miss a Saudi game with their apparent Saudi wave that coming..
All these people wanting to see Messi... Glad we got see him in 2014, in 3 knockout games, including the Semifinal and Final. That was Messi at his best. He is not at that same level now. But still creates ticket demand.
It will be Messi's last world cup! and Argentina is a decent team now. Also they have a huge fan base in middle east especially Indian, for who Qatar is a short flight away, and has plenty of relatives and friends living here. So expect plenty of neutral football fans, especially for Argentina
realistically tho, this is a stronger Argentina than 2014. Not a Messi dependent Argentina, and folks just want to see him lift the trophy.
Im traveling with my wife and kids; but a lot of married guys really have to go thru hoops to get permission (y'all know what that means). As the pressure builds and the permissions get granted; the group grows. This is probably the last one for us as a family. We've been doing it since 2006 since the kids were babies; theyre ready to move on with their lives. (college, work etc) So it's a farewell for us as a family.
Out of curiosity which link worked yesterday? When we go directly from Fifa Website it was the FWCMaint1, but we all changed it to FWC22. Did the FWC22 work?
Which VPN service has a Qatar IP address? I don't think the 2 big ones Express VPN or Nord VPN have it.
the best way was always to go to direct link for any game and to click login there, this way you can't end up in the wrong queue
Same here. It started with 4 of us going to Qatar and now we ended with 32 people, mostly Serbian fans. This ticketing+hayya+accommodation system was complicated for them and they asked if i can help them. Now i have like 200+ tickets I'll be there for 12 days, group stage, watching one match every day.
I have tickets to 22 matches. Unless Senegal finish second in the group, I will watch zero matches at Al Bayt. Conversely, I go to Al Janoub stadium for all 6 group matches. It's a funny old game.
Thank you all!! I'm super happy. Finally we will go to 6 matches. I think it will be a great World Cup. Yesterday my goal was Brazil-Serbia, Brazil-Switzerland and Argentina-Mexico. I entered the ticket portal 1 hour and 53 minutes after it opened. I got Brazil-Serbia and Portugal-Uruguay. I was a bit disappointed, but finally, after some thought, we bought Brazil-Cameroon and changed our flight to a later day. So we'll see M10 Spain - Costa Rica M16 Brazil - Serbia M28 Spain - Germany M32 Portugal - Uruguay M43 Spain - Japan M48 Brazil - Cameroon
I can STILL pay for an application not paid during the draw phase. But the match is not available on FCFS anymore. This is weird:
I am looking at tickets just out of curiosity. Almost everything is gone. Between 24-30 november, only South Korea vs Cameroon is available in Cat 1. but it seems there are still many many tickets available for people Living in Qatar. Wonder when they Will transfer them to international fans. Maybe when more accommodation is available?
I can see Cameroon v Serbia and Ghana v South Korea. I am attending the first one anyway. Sadly I cant buy the second match due to schedule restrictions.
Those who have done purchases in previous world cups, how does demand for Qatar compare to previous ones?
Looks as good as anything I have seen. Only thing I cant gauge is the Cat 4 local tickets. But I was surprised to see this morning that everything has gone bar two matches. (This is my 5th WC)
Hi, does anyone remember if in 2018 FIFA drop ticket during the 2nd FCFS ? i know there are tickets drop on last minute sales as fans also selling back ticket to Fifa. But not sure if any additional drop on FCFS. I’m thinking that fifa droped semi and final last nite, just to ensure they fulfil their “promise” on the email according to all games available.
Just checked in again in the Qatar site. I wonder if they also allowed people with Saudi residence to buy tickets as Poland Saudi is sold out. Would not shock me that close countries from where people realistically can do day trips or drive in have also priorities not just qataris... IF anyone have time, check a saudi address.
I am Saudi and I highly doubt it to be honest. UAE, Kuwait, and Oman residence would also ask for the same privilege. I believe they would not have a hard time to just transfer these tickets to the International portal rather than allowing Saudis only to buy from Qatari portal.
With regards to resident tickets, let's not forget that Qatar has a very tiny population compared with Russia, Brazil, etc. (compared pretty much with any world cup organizer). I would guess that Fifa might have adjusted for some of this difference but maybe not all of it.
You are really MacGyver, from vpn qatar, pcr pdf skills, so many browser open, put 5 people into 2 room apartment.
