Its been a while since RBNY has been in KC getting a 2-2 draw in their last visit, in April 2019. Looks like Ford is still out, so expect the same line-up as last week
Zusi is questionable as well to make of that what you want. Can't wait for Duke to be moved to RB and Rosell to come on in the midfield in his place... Sounds like the Red Bulls are COVID-free after missing Long and Luquinhas last weekend. Both played midweek against Atlanta.
Any points are happy points. This is the last game before the new signings are eligible to play, yeah?
SKC looked legit until the delay. If they keep the defense tight through the rest of the game, they could possibly get a good result. Fingers crossed.
Would like to see more grit from Duke. He gets bumped off pretty easy and kind of just gives up rather than push through. And when dispossessed he often is trailing the entire way back down the field when some urgency oils get him back to help faster.
14 games played, Shelton has 0 goals (MLS). And Vujnovic can't get a sniff at CF. A random bum off the street would get a tap in if you give him 14 games.....
Literally the only consolation for how embarrassing that game was is that New York played a pretty dirty game so we have the moral high ground. So, ******** all.
This team is so offensively impotent/inept. Up a man for 19 minutes and we still couldn't find the back of the goal.
I turned it on after the red card, but I don't think I saw SKC take a single shot in that time. Isi headed a corner, was that it?
If you forced me to describe this game with one PG word, my word is carpetbagger. NYRB’ antics were flattering to SKC tonight. The first half delay didn’t help us, but we all know weather wasn’t the problem. Just not good enough unfortunately.
As I watched the game, I really came to appreciate how RBNY played. They were relentless and tough and took advantage of the opportunities to score. What I liked is they reminded me of how SKC used to play when they were winning silverware. Boy, do I long to see that back in KC.
SKC are ow the wooden spoon when using PPG. They have a firm grip on "worst in the west" and I wouldn't bet against them finishing there. 16 goals in 19 games and PV continues to play Shelton, the man who easily is the worst starting CF in MLS, and probably isn't good enough to be the backup on 2/3s of MLS teams. At what point do you realize what this player is and just move on? In the positive side, Pierre, Duke, Ndembe, Salloi and Hernandez are a decent group of young players to build upon.
We should be fair to Shelton about his play here, though. I mean, remember when he, uhm, ah, soooo... and there was that time when he, no, that was JFR, I guess, then towards the end he, wait, no that was actually pretty bad... It's true, he doesn't shoot, and his passing is abysmal, and his close control is borderline rec league, and his pressure rarely rises above meh, but (and i will leave this for someone else to fill in, because I've got nothing).
Not to add to the gloom... but is there much hope that Salloi will re-up and continue in an SKC jersey after this season?
yeah. Anyone know who is dragging their feet in this. Does Salloi want to test market or Pete not think he’s worth whatever the next salary level would be. if it’s the latter, I’m really starting to wonder if PV has a good handle on the TD side of the house.
I don't have any sources but I'm sure it's Daniel. I mean, unless the club is offering a tiny raise to re-up, which I highly doubt. Still plenty of time for negotiation. Well, maybe SKC is straight up out of allocation money and is waiting to release some of the overpaids to earn it back... But I don't think the new summer signings bear that out, honestly.
