So the nordecke may have said this but those with the I dissent shirts on the drum row wearing the nordecke clearance badges yelled many awful things about the guy with the drum. An old nordecke guy (drew?) and I said we were allowed to bring drums and chant per everyone's tweets. We then got into a verbal argument over it twice. The second time we were flicked off and another guy jestured with his privates. I probably cussed and the other guy might have flipped them off back. It was madness. I haven't been this angry in forever.
Exciting game from the stands. We certainly outplayed a team that was bent on fouling their way to a tie, which the ref should have controlled but decided not to. No drums certainly hurt the atmosphere. Late, when Mensah was trying to get people to make noise, you could tell the protest had an effect on the game.
And I got banned for saying that it was me and "so much for being inclusive". I'm honestly done with this shit.
This wasn't predictable at all. Seems that contrary to assurances, conformity was not only expected, but demanded.
Nothing CERTAINLY changes when you sit on your hands and are silent about things, for sure. If that scowl on Jimmy's face was brought about by this protest, then the entire thing was worth it for any amount of misery it brought that POS bastard.
That decision from Mensah to start the match gave me a heckin' big concern! I literally groaned when I saw Pedro step up to take the PK! The kids can ball! Tacos are yummy! I screamed so much when Lucas scored and then some more when it turned out he didn't! I will now only be referring to Eric Hurtado as Potato! The ref sure likes to see Crew players fouled! We didn't always backpass! I was a very sweaty Hot Boi, and probably ran more than Kevin Molino! I bet I made my back worse! Daughter #1 is still a curse! They played the song during fireworks! Drunk guys almost falling off the pedestrian bridge! Driving to Dayton at 10:30 is a blast! I had fun!
Sidenote... I didn't have anyone ask me to stop cheering or give me dirty looks while I wailed like a banshee. Same for the very enthusiastic gentleman standing in the row ahead of me, although I almost died while he screamed "Wings of an Eagles" for a bit. Some of the pink-clad fans in my vicinity were trying to join in the chants, too. Of course, none of us had drums. And we were a few rows above the concourse. Sorry you were stuck in a field of pricks, @DrunkandDisorderly and @Paul171121. It was definitely difficult to get any coherent (or in rhythm) chants going tonight. Totally different vibe, for sure.
Then: "We can't go to capos! It's what other teams have! We've always done things organically." And so on. Now: It's almost like we need capos.
I actually preferred it tonight. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ It was an absolute mess, but I didn't feel like I was being screamed at for 90 minutes.
Always good to get out to LDC! P.S. Be sure to check the clipper guard before cutting your hair, kids. A 1/2 is not the same length as a 2.
As I said. The protesters were behaving like fascists leading up to and apparently during the Match. “Think like us, dress like us, behave like us” Did they goose step in the March to the match?
