match 56-64 have all had cat 1-3 tickets removed. (they were showing previously)
Doesn't bode well for Tuesday FCFS2 if no tickets are available for these matches...

grant wahl is someone with zero credibility, wannabe insider with no real value collecting clicks and trying to build name based on nothing

with FIFA anything is possible, of course, but I see little to none chance for format change in 2026, especially not for 100+ games

yes, that was huge drop on 18.4. and if your queue was not too long you could buy anything. ARG-ICE was sold out within few minutes, everything else was available for quite a long time, at least few thousand tickets for the final. you could also log out and log in again with different profile, so once you were inside money was the only limit!

I check this thread pretty frequently but I do miss many posts. Were there any post regarding when all these hotels were available? I see on site a lot of hotels posted but majority sold out/not available with scattered few dates here and there. Just curious.

Mate, let’s have it right, anyone who is in this forum is fired up for Qatar 2022.

I am waiting for July 5th and ‘Que sera sera’ for any additional tickets.
The thing I am looking for now is a logistics guide. Would be good if they put a YouTube video out to shown how the metro works, Failing that, anyone know a good expat forum that I can ping questions to?

as of today 11 friends of mine will be going, and that number might go up to 13 or even 14, means great stories to tell in years to come, or at least to fill the time until the next one;)

I hope you realize that you have little chance of making all those 6-10pm connections without missing a lot of play. Statistically, about 1/3 of those matches will run an extra hour long, and many of those connections already need ~2.5 hrs (to make the connection from the 6pm match to the 10pm match). If you watch all the 6pm matches in their entirety, you won't see the first half of most of those 10pm matches. So your 10pm seat will be empty for several hours of play that could otherwise be enjoyed by a fan not attending the 6pm matches. So just a suggestion that you group those matches in pairs and mostly pursue 1 of each. Of course some connections are better than others - that was discuss here about a month ago...

Is that the prevailing thought here, that although the stadiums are mostly very close, that the Metro system and travel connections are so poor it will take a few hours to get between stadiums?

    Cheers

From what I've heard on here, for some matches it's virtually impossible to make it with public transport (you'd have to hire a public chauffeur and sprint right after the match to avoid the outgoing traffic), and for others whilst it's technically possible, things will probably not go as smoothly as you'd expect and you'd still miss a part of the match. It's simply not worth the stress or the money

People are just looking at a map of the metro etc and going oh that's close.. get through all the security lanes tkt checks ,then searching people this all takes time. Add on extra time and penalties

there are a couple of days where three games are doable, rest is heavy.
still, there will definitely be enough people trying to do four in one day but that is impossible without dedicated transport and that is what infantino might have (simmilar to beckenbauer in 2006), but it might be out of the price range of regular bigsoccer member

That’s a good point. Infantino or another VIP (any president of anywhere) may decide he wants to watch 2 matches back to back. That will cause logistical nightmares. No cars will be allowed to move until the VIP leaves the stadium and the roads will probably be blocked off so he can reach his match on time.

Even if you hire a personal driver; he's going to have to sit there and wait. But it's none of my business telling people what to do with their time and money. But i'm avoiding this type of mess altogether. (example: if Joe Biden or the queen wants to be at the USA - ENG game !)

Internal documents and road closures I have seen with various routes being made into red zones , is causing me to believe that doing back to back games is going to be more and more unlikely. Also there might the private car restriction and sur charges for Uber and ride share to limit it’s use to central doha. Ideally the plan is to make everyone take the public transport. It’s still very easy to do 2 games a day , just not back to back games.

Luckily the Queen isn't a football fan and she's not moving about as much these days.

I will concede that until the games begin, we will not be able to gauge just how bad or good logistics will be. But a simple analysis shows that the 6-10 combos for all of the stadiums won't work using the metro. Ubers and Taxis will follow strict protocols and likely will in very high demand, making them low probability. A private car willing to do whatever is needed will probably work for certain combinations, and not likely work for others. But private vehicles will be forced to stay well away from most of the stadiums, so at the very least the spectator will need to do a lot of leg work to escape the rings of congestion around the first stadium and then to penetrate the same at the next stadium. To be clear, I'm not telling anyone what to do, I'm just presenting a clear concern that I think it is highly likely people planning on attending 8 R16s and 4QFs are going to miss a lot of play. At several hundreds a match per pair of tickets, that's an expensive miss.

The more interesting question is why FIFA doesn't move the 6pm matches to 5pm and open up both matches to visitors? I really don't see 5pm being any worse for tv viewership. It is better for Asians and otherwise insignificant for Europeans and across the Americas. West coast Americans are used to doing things early in the morning, so 7am vs 8am is no biggie...

Thanks for that updated insight! My instinct is that few in Qatar are going to be trying to make those 6-10 connections work for the fans who disregarded the warnings. They will disrupt roads and public transit systems to best suit crowd control and safety, not expediency. Arab culture does not like to be rushed, and so expediency will not be a priority. I doubt Uber drivers will risk fines in an attempt to help passengers. I'm certain a few savvy locals will figure out how best to be make those connections, but it will be off the table for the general fan.

Thank you for the info... I did not intend to watch it all! Just one per day.

people who say… “Uber is cheap in Doha”! May not realize how Uber works. Uber will be incredibly expensive on match days… which is every day. I paid close to $100us to go 3 miles in Cincinnati, Ohio.. because it was match day.

    This.

To each their own - and I get the allure to hitting multiple matches in a day - but unless the distances/logistics/timing truly work, having to clock-watch, rush places, or miss parts of games hoping that everything goes smoothly to maybe make it on time to another just doesn't sound enjoyable.

Rather really enjoy one match live than have a subpar experience at two.

But I respect that others may have a different approach.
