I'm flying from KUL - DOH - IST - DOH - KUL. Going to IST after the group matches and planning to come back tocDOH for the Qtr finals and hopefully the finals (if I can lucky). But the changes are massive. To be honest, I'm expecting more changes to come and its only July. They have not been very accommodating and I'm just concern on flights that they might cancel during one of my matchs. Hopefully not.
Just a quick question, it's great that a link was shared with us all where we could apparently beat the queue (and the person who shared this, thank you ). How do we actually determine it's not a scam site rather than an actual FIFA site? Had someone asked me this recently and have not crossed my mind then.
There wont be any changes DURING the tournament as they wont want the bad publicity and they will know all of their plane leasing arrangements. I understand the issue it causes for your planning, though.
I did everything with just a phone during fcfs1. I was in in like 45 minutes. And could get everything I want that day.
This is the queue page: https://access.tickets.fifa.com/pkpcontroller/wp/FWC22/index_en.html?queue=05-FWC22-FCFS-PROD And this is the ticketing page. I wonder if we could actually go straight to this when the FCFS opens? https://fcfs-intl.fwc22.tickets.fifa.com/secure/selection/event/date/product/101397570845/lang/en
No, we can't. There is a exact number of people that can access the ticketing portal at the same time. So when one of them exit, next one in the queue get in. That page is going to take you in the queue.
Does anyone know if it is possible to sell TST7 tickets individually? For example: I got TST7 Spain. I don't want to watch the group stage games. Is it possible to seel just these three tickets? Was this possible in previous world cups? I couldn't find anything explaining this on the fifa website
It is possible. The only likely restriction is that you cannot keep a guest ticket and sell the main applicant's ticket. You can sell a guest ticket and keep the main applicant ticket or you can sell all tickets you have for a particular game. At this stage pretty much all questions are answered in the thread.
Just a note that soccer has been Canada's #1 amateur sport for decades but professional leagues were regularly absent. With the MSL taking root in the US and now additionally having our own Premier League that brings professional soccer to small markets, there is a much more visibility. The women winning Olympic gold last summer in Tokyo doesn't hurt either, nor did the CanMNT's performance in the CONCACAF Octagonal. (beating both Mexico and the USA is a feat most Canadians can enjoy over a beer...) The issue with professional sports in Canada is that we join all the US leagues (MLB, NHL, NBA, MLS) but only our largest markets (typically Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary etc.) can afford to compete in those leagues (add Ottawa and Edmonton for hockey). If we didn't join and created instead our own leagues, then smaller markets could have pro teams, but of course the level of play would be inferior to the US leagues. So we join the US leagues and that stifles small market teams. Even in Ice Hockey smaller markets struggle to survive in the NHL: Quebec City and Winnipeg come to mind. What is good about the MSL is that smaller US markets can participate, which might open the door to more Canadian teams. But our Canadian Premier League is quite low cost and accessible in smaller markets - I hope it flourishes. Small cities like Hamilton,Halifax, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Windsor, Victoria now have a professional sports team.
One thing about the Last Minute sales is that one will unlikely be able to link tickets to other applications. I think that is a popular feature that motivates me to buy additional tickets now rather than later...
For South Africa 2010, I had many distant family members who showed ZERO interest for the World Cup UNTIL matches starting being played and the Shakira video was splashed across every screen. By the 2nd week of the tournament they all wanted tickets. Fortunately for them, I had already bought 4 seats to a dozen matches and so they all got to see a few big matches... World Cup fever could hit the Gulf States in a similar manner...
I have flown Qatar Airways many times - they really are a pleasant airline with comfortable seats on modern 787 planes, great meals (Arab Mezze in business class is spectacular) and pleasant flight attendants. Very nice lounges in the DOHA airport that you can pay to enter if you've got a long wait.
Ah I tell the wife I want to do a LOT of things instead of visiting the in-laws EVERY YEAR. I even schedule dental appointments to disrupt her schedule
This will be my first time flying Qatar Airways, and I purchased time to spend in a lounge at the airport on my way to India.
Back in 94 I had an Argentine GF who flew in to join me in the states where we watched a couple of Argentina matches. Boy was the sex good until they lost back to back to first Bulgaria and then Romania. If you have an Argentine GF, pick your matches carefully!
I'll probably do the lounge as well but right now it seems like a mess. Nothing is confirmed yet and I'm expecting more re-scheduling of flights.
This is exactly what I expect to happen. Once the WC starts demand will explode in Qatar and GCC countries. WC fever is strong... Even without another Shakira video...waka. waka. Who will be their artist of choice for this go around?
They already have a featured artist and song. But nothing is as compelling as Shakira Personally I loved the 2010 World Cup. Maybe I will bring my vuvuzela to Qatar
Hey all! Is there a like a designated Fans and travel section of Bigsoccer? I remember for 2014 we had a section of the forum dedicated where we all exchanged info. Tickets and accommodation. Would love to start a Fan village thread. Good luck to all next week!
