They can find all the attacking talent they want but we need players in the not so sexy positions (the back line) if we really want to take the next step forward.

Currently we are in a pseudo space where we have a lot of options up top but start to thin out at defense especially outside backs the depth is damn near nonexistent.

The other LAFC left back not getting his papers on time REALLY hurt us.

Hopefully this generation doesn’t become lost like the one that did qualify. That’s the last thing we need.

Also I need to stay away from social media and the such especially from these so called journalist who keep pushing this bullshit narrative that “made in El Salvador” is the move. Especially from dickweeds like Pohl who never bothered to do any of that when he was president of Alianza.

Definitely feel like we would’ve struggled against Jamaica.

Kinda sucks that this tournament also acted as Olympic 2024 qualifiers.

Because we would’ve had a much better result if we had an all-Salvadoran roster  ES teams need to invest heavily in academy teams so we don’t have to rely on US-based players.

On the other hand, if we’re going to be relying on a more “American” team, then we should expect a B or C level USMNT team.

I don’t actually. Jamaica was BAD. We would’ve struggled against their physicality but been able to outplay them, and i feel the fields are decent enough rn that our soccer would’ve shown!

FAS and their new management excite me for this reason. They actually took one of our ASLA players to try out for their team (Brandon Pacheco, 16 yr old CAM).

Jamaica struggled against a ten man Haiti for a good chunk of the game it wasn’t until the second red that Jamaica finally sealed it. I honestly believe we could have beaten them.

I’m annoyed at how they paint like it was a group effort all around, naw FESA did everything and in the end they never really profited what they should have from it. No rise to the first division even with most of that squad on the roster (eventually they sold their second division spot and went back down), they couldn’t offload any of them at there hottest not even around the local league because the sale price went up (and understandably so) most wasted a season or two until finally they began to move.

ES teams will never invest because they are always “broke” the only one who probably could and should have started a long time ago is the current owner of Alianza and Aguila.

    Watching Guatemala vs. Dominican Republic

Once again Ordóñez is a beast this young talent should be scouted by top Euro clubs in all honesty. It looked like Guatemala had a comfortable 2-0 lead but in quick succession DR tied it up scoring in 62nd, and 64th.

Looks like we severely underestimate DR and I’m not liking how the local pundits aren’t giving them their due.

Gotta say congrats to them, DR made it to the final.
but i don’t like this format or agree with it. DR isn’t ‘weak’, their squad is actually better on paper than most of the teams playing bar Mexico & US. Also, this is Guate’s SIXTH GAME IN 14 days, THREE ET. No way should this be allowed when DR is only 3 games in.
it is what it is. Congrats to DR, and tough luck @edcalvi , you at least got your second U20 WC.

Yeah the format hurts everyone outside of the US and Mexico who have depth.

Also I’m kind of enjoying the US throttle Honduras (sorry bros.) mainly because there coach touted the made in Honduras banner which rallied all our scrub journalist in the anti Perez campaign well a lot of good that is doing them right now (down 3-0 at HT)

I hadn't paid attention to that. Yeah it's kind of unfair and it's amazing how we still managed to make the game competitive.
