I want to feel that way and really like our team. The pragmatist in me says we are in Hondo, this is still CCACAF officiating, and it feels like a WC qualifier. Just tough. Fines lines.
It's interesting, I guess because we all have things to do and they're not between us and the Olympics, there's been almost zero discussion about Mexico here. How do they look? They blew out T&T, who advanced, in the group stage, but tied Haiti.
Honduras is so scared that they're writing articles about getting the US players punished for the post match scuffle https://www.diez.hn/laseleccion/que...os-tras-zafarrancho-ante-costa-rica-DG8855423
50/50. Serious. It would be the first time they were actually challenged all tourney so they could have real issues.
We gunna beat their ass, 3-0…..and it’ll be 2-0 at half. They gunna go in hot, and we will counter and snag a few goals. Then finish them off in the 2nd half, Dodge batteries, water bottles, etc and run out of the stadium ready to face Mexico in the ship
Up a goal 30 minutes in they're attacking in numbers and trying acrobatic flying volleys like kids on the playground. How can you not root for these guys? As I type this, they score again, off another flowing team move... I was trying to explain to my wife why I enjoy this level of soccer last night and it's partly because there's still much fun left in the game for players at this stage in their careers. (They're reviewing the goal because of a possible offside earlier in the play, but it looked to me on first viewing like it should stand.) EDIT: Seeing it again, they were right not to call it on the guy who let the ball run, but the guy who actually received the through ball, I suppose, was off by a hair. Ah well.)
There's just, I dunno exactly, like a certain level of "polish" to most of the DR's players that's keeping them from being excellent, instead of the just good that they are. They're good! Congrats to them, what a story.
I would ordinarily say I want Mexico to win in this situation. I want to beat them in the final. Beating Guatemala 4-0 does very little for us. However, I don't want to give Mexico the chance to provisionally cap-tie any additional dual-nats next summer. Thats more important, so I'll root for Guatemala.
